Or is it just a rumor? I read an article on a Disney FB page that says DL will be doing this soon, but there's been no official announcement. My question is, if all tickets are scanned on one phone, how can families separate? Would a screen shot of someone's ticket be sufficient? But what if that person's cell phone dies?

Either sign into the account with them on another device or add the tickets to other accounts as well. The digital tickets aren't phone locked. Or even account locked. They can be added to multiple.

Definitely take a screenshot and sent it to everyone's phone. I've had the app misbehave a few times this past year and had to use the screenshot.

Someone I know wasn't smart enough to have taken a screenshot and after struggling a long time after an update broke the app on her phone she got a no-show against her Magic Key and then basically couldn't go to the park for several days until Disneyland rolled out a new android update. I also know somehow who had to buy a new phone because an app update caused it to no longer work on an old version of Android.

My DD loves the paper tickets. She doesn’t like for me to always scan her into rides. I want the paper tickets.

I saw someone speculate that Disney is using this opportunity to get West coast to help pay for the launch of MB+ for both coasts and then could possibly add the ability to "because of guest demand" be able to use the older magic bands at DLR in the future. It makes sense because the infrastructure should already be there to support the use of the older bands already. They just want more sales for the newer, more expensive bands now.

Anybody have an update on this? Paper tickets still available at the turnstiles? Going in a few days with kids who don't have phones (so sharing screen shots, etc) doesn't help.

My guess is that they would take away paper tickets to encourage people to purchase magic bands.

I haven't heard anything further on this. I'm sure you will get paper tickets.

Thank Goodness! I am the only person on the planet without a smart phone and prefer something tangible to something on hubby's phone!
