Any sign that Disney may also be planning to eliminate that requirement? It will be a deal breaker for me on the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise. Too risky to fly to Hawaii and get a positive test at port.
Seven-day MSC cruise departing tomorrow has the same requirements as Carnival/Princess/Holland America.I've cruised with Carnival, Princess and have a Holland America cruise upcoming. They do not require a test at port before boarding, only a test within two days. Is Disney the only cruise line requiring this?
It will be a deal breaker for us if they remove the port testing on longer cruises. There is no way we are getting on a ship for 10+ nights with others who just picked up the virus.
Testing at port is one of the key reasons why you don't hear about guests being quarantined on Disney ships.

People absolutely do get quarantined on Disney ships. They have 2 decks set aside on each ship for that purpose. Posters have reported being quarantined, and seeing others being quarantined.Testing at port is one of the key reasons why you don't hear about guests being quarantined on Disney ships.
If no one is being quarantined, why have they set aside the entire deck 2 for that reason?
I'm thinking since they are still moving everyone off of deck 2 in order to use it for quarantine, I would imagine they are finding cases on board. With people getting off in the various ports, passengers are still potentially bringing Covid on board.
The incidence is much lower. Those Carnival ships have 50+ cases being reported on some sailings. On one Celebrity sailing in January, apparently 5% of the guests were quarantined.People absolutely do get quarantined on Disney ships. They have 2 decks set aside on each ship for that purpose. A similar question was asked on the other forum I'm on. The responses there say:Is Disney the only cruise line requiring this?
Did you know you have to currently have to verify your full vaccine status or test for Hawaii government? We even had to give our flight numbers and hotel address info also. We leave on Monday.Any sign that Disney may also be planning to eliminate that requirement? It will be a deal breaker for me on the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise. The totals very from CM to CM on each cruise. I got 1400, 1300, and 1200. Hard to say if any CM is given the real numbers.Where are you finding official numbers of Covid cases on each ship? I wasn't aware those numbers were being made public.
On some cruise lines, the captain announces the numbers daily, and those on board share on public forums. Here is one example.Where are you finding official numbers of Covid cases on each ship? I wasn't aware those numbers were being made public.

They can/will get retested if they show symptoms... or feel unwell enough to visit the medical center...I still don't get how you are quarantined. Are they showing symptoms or are they close contacts. They're not getting retested on board right? I would like to see first hand accounts on how they ended up there.
