Is Disney Quest worth seeing?

I have an 8 year old DS and 5 year old DD. Is it worth making time in our vacation to see Disney Quest? I saw on another post that many people say that Disney Quest is something they would not do again.

I went once and didn't care for it. I found the layout to be very confusing and unorganized. At the same time, I've heard people rave about it and would almost be curious in trying it again...

I wouldn't go by one post, either positive or negative. I also wouldn't go by what others say.... if I think I would like it, I'd try it.

Disney Quest is not worth half the money they charge for it. Its clearly a teenage/video game junkie deal. Your 8 year old might like it. Your 5 year old might be a little young. I was bored with everything but Cyber Space Mountain.

If you can affford to spend the money then go ahead and do it. If you think it is something you have to do to have a complete trip to WDW then no.

I have 4 kids 8, 12, 13, and 14 in the 8 years we have been going about 16 trips we have never set foot into the building and have never felt cheated. My boys 12, and 13 just found out it existed but I said if they want to go they need to foot the bill themselves, they decided it wasn't worth $38 of their own money...

This wasn't my favorite place to go, but it sure was a hit for DS8. It's noisy and can get a bit crowded and it is certainly for those who love video games. My son wants to go again so we will be taking him next time. I agree that you should not go by what everyone else thinks, I would look at what information you can find about the place and decide if it is right for your family.

We also had the Water Park Fun & More option so we used one of our plus options for admission.

My family and i really enjoy going to Disney Quest! My DB is very much into video games and arcades. Disney Quest really is just one big arcade.

Disney quest has height restrictions on some of the simulators/games, a couple of which your 5 year old might not make (51 inches) There is more fun to be had for the 7 and up crowd, than a 5 year old. But you know all kids are different.

I wouldnt pay separately for it. If you could spend all day playing pinball and racing games it might be worth it. They have some fairly cool virtual reality stuff too. If its included in a package it would be worth trying out. Otherwise, skip it.

I would say 4th graders and up would enjoy it (when we were there last month a group of high school math team members where there having a great time).

I agree it isn't worth the money they charge at the door, but we buy the Park Hopper Plus passes, and with the ones we bought, the passes came to $9 each, so for that it is worth it. I nice way to spend a part of a day if you don't want to go to the parks (like on the day we fly out, but our flight isn't until 7:00 pm).

My kids really like it (they are 12), but for the ages of your children, I would say wait a couple of years.

It was included in our tickets. My boys had fun with it and enjoyed it, but I really didn't see much I wanted to do, AND I ENJOY games. I just thought it would be MORE than it was and was extremely excited about going.

We are planning on going again on our next trip, but ONLY because it is included on our tickets. I don't think I would ever buy a separate ticket. But like I said my boys had fun.

Plus, DTD in general is a great place to go, so regardless your trip down there would be fun.

Thanks for all the information. I guess since we have park tickets that have extra options, I might send my husband and son. That way my daughter and I can get some shopping done in Downtown Disney.

you can't get to one floor from another. We all had headaches after the first hour. DS liked the virtual roller coaster & the human pinball machine if I remember correctly. way too expensive IMHO, never again!

My DS (11) at the time loved Disney Quest.

As for me - well lets just say there isn't enough asprin in the world to get me back in the place.

Extremly noisy and horrible layout describes this place.

Fun for preteens and teenagers and those that love video games.

HE double hockey sticks for the poor parents that go with them

My DS10 loved it! DS5 was bored after half an hour. We're going to be in Orlando in two weeks. My DH and DS10 plan to go to Disney Quest while DS5 and I hang out in the hotel pool.

If your 8-year-old is into video games, he will love Disney Quest. Your daughter is probably too young.

My kids liked at at ages 8 and 10. They have no desire to go back anymore though. I wouldn't pay extra for it.

Totally beyond noisy. Like being stuck in a chuck e cheese all day long.
DH & I couldn't wait to get out of there. Good food court though which I believe is the cheesecake factory. But you couldn't even enjoy what you ate with all the kids running around unsupervised and all the noise.

Now if they served alcohol, it might help the headache

My DS11 and I had a great time there. We just used the stairs, and didn't have trouble getting from one floor to another. And it wasn't any louder than a Chuck E Cheese the day we were there.

We had plus tickets, so we used one of our pluses for DQ. If you go, you need to get there around 11am, they open at 11:30. Then do the Pirates of the Caribbean and other popular rides before the lines get long. There is a cool space bumper cars thing, where you drive over balls(asteroids) and they get sucked into your car. Then you shoot them at other cars and if you hit the right place, they spin out of control. That one was fun. There are lots of plain old video games, newer and older(for us old people) and lots of simulators.

I think for the 8 and up crowd, it would be a hit, esp. if you have the pluses. My son and I will be going back in October.

We have been several times. My DS (10) loves it. It is one of his favorite places to go. He had fun making a music CD and also building his own toy (that he got to keep). He also loved the virtual games. Although my DS loves it, I was glad when we left! Except for the virtual games, I was very bored. I didn't find it noisy or confusing though. But it was worth it to see DS have such a great time. I think it is a great idea for your DH to take your DS, while you and your DD go shopping! Perfect!
