I heard somewhere that it was. When is it closing down?

I wrote WDW about this last month asking if DQ is closing and this is the response i got:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World.

I remember some speculation that the ESPN club was moving there from DTD.

I wouldnt be surprised. last time we were there it was so dirty and worn looking. Now that its not included on most passes I imagine most people dont go in there. I sure wouldnt pay extra to see it.

I was just there a few weeks ago. It wasn't worn and dirty. Looked fine to me. The crowd wasn't there when we were there, but the weather was beautiful after several cold days so everyone was at the park. As we were leaving, there were more people coming in, so it was getting more crowded.

I have been to DQ 3x...after the 2nd time it gets old...It needs to be updated...I do however enjoy where you can build your own rollercoaster.

The food is from cheesecake factory so it is very decent..Lines are intolerable unless you go 1st thing in the morning and it is extremely noisy.

But my biggest pet peeve is getting from one floor to the next...Elevators take forever...we waited at least 5 minutes for one. Taking the stairs is an adventure in itself.

First off you have to find the stairs and when you do a normal person would assume that they would be on the same side of the building for each floor...

NOT :furious: :furious: :furious:

drove me crazy.. :rolleyes1 .

I for one will not go back...If you are going for the first time..yes then it is worth it. mucho fun for the family. after your first excursion the lines. stairs, noise gets old fast..........

DQ was suppposed to come to Philadelphia as well as Chicago. Seems like that plan got squished. Presume the findings showed people were not too amused after the 1st time.

I just want it to stay up long enough for my first trip there in Sept '07. Last time I was in WDW it did not even exist ('97)

We went to DQ last friday, which was the final full day of our stay. It was a mistake. Downtown Disney was pretty much a bust for us (neither of us is big shoppers), and Disney Quest was only worth about half an hour of our time. We don't expect to ever be back there again.

That said, I'm sure it would be fun for children. There seemed to be lots for them to do. It's just not fun for middle aged people like us - even though we're big time video gamers and enjoy simulators. It's just not our type of place.

Now, do we wish it would close? Nope. There were plenty of people there enjoying themselves. It's just not our type of place.

DQ was in Chicago (I knew people who went in 2001), but has since closed down.

Disney Quest is NOT CLOSING ANY TIME SOON.

This rumor has been around for close to a year. It was picked up off the Jim Hill Media website, and has never been confirmed by Disney. There has never been any other source for this rumor.

It would be an ESPN Zone, which includes arcade games.

Disney Quest could "morph" into an ESPN Zone as opposed to being closed and then re-open as ESPN Zone.

Pleasure Island did not close down completely as some clubs were replaced by restaurants.

It all depends on revenue. Comment I read somewhere, I forget where, lamenting the dismantling of a merry-go-round: "... it took up too much space and did not make enough money ..."

I remember hearing a podcast from Jim Hill Media about this- THEY claimed it was official- but I have never seen anything from Disney on this- I hope it is just a rumor.
