I know that Scotland voted to remain part of the United Kingdom,BUT with the recent announcement that Disney is "retiring" World Showcase acts Off Kilter, Mo’Rockin’, Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps, and World Showcase Players,I am "concerned" they may use this situation as a "reason" to start "retiring" actual World Showcase Countries!!!!;):)

Is Scotland safe from "retirement";):)

There is no Scotland in the World Showcase, it's all part of the UK pavilion.

Haha. I can just imagine the guys in WDW Finance. You need $30,000 to re-theme the shops and separate Scotland into it's own store?

Thank goodness the Union is preserved.

TOO funny!:)

I have been thinking and if Disney were to "retire" Scotland,it would not set precedent since they have already "semi-retired" Norway!!!!!lol:)

Since Scotland voted no, I am perplexed as to why the question was asked. But, playing along, how do you suggest they "retire" Scotland? There is no area within the pavilion that is solely Scottish. Items that may be particular to the individual UK countries are intermingled within the various shops. Would they suddenly ban anything that is tartan? Or anything bearing a Scottish name?

How would they go about retiring a pavilion that doesn't exist?

If a country that doesn't even EXIST can be part of the Norway pavilion, I don't see any reason why a country that wasn't part of the UK anymore couldn't remain part of the UK pavilion. There are no rules anymore.

Technically, Germany didn't exist when they opened Epcot. But we still got the pavilion.
