Is Disney getting into the summer camp business?

Sky Ranch is a Christian summer camp located a couple of hours east of Dallas. During the school year, they offer non-religious educational programs. Our school's 4th graders go there for three days every year.

We heard from a teacher that the school was investigating other places for the 4th graders to go because "Disney has bought Sky Ranch."

Has anyone heard if Disney is getting into the summer camp business?

I don't know anything about this rumor, but we used to live in the Dallas area and work for a construction company. There was a rumor going around several years ago (2001/2002) that Disney was buying up land around Sherman, Texas and was going to build a theme park there. I always figured it was too far from a major airport to be true.

I've heard of those kind of rumors, too. I first thought that maybe they were buying the Sky Ranch land for a theme park, but why buy lovely forested land that is over two hours from the airport, when there is plenty of flat bare land much closer?

Dh was just telling me something about Disney buying land in N. Texas, and I thought he was teasing me, but he swears that he read or heard it in the business news. I was basically tuning him out, but now I will have to question him more this afternoon to find out where he got his info.

Go to google.com and do a search on "disney buying land in texas" and it'll link you to another forum site (that's much less user friendly). Seems there are rumors that Disney is buying land all over Texas. Not sure which ones would be true. But these rumors have been around for YEARS.
