Is Disney Fever contagious or not?

The purpose of this post is to find out how to get dh more excited, if possible.

We made our first trip to WDW in May 06. Here's how our trip went:
Day 1 - Arrived 8am & spent the day at our hotel
Day 2 - Typhoon Lagoon
Day 3 - AK
Day 4 - I took four of our kids to MK while DH stayed at hotel with baby
Day 5 - I took two kids to Epcot in the rain while dh stayed w/other 3
Day 6 - I took 2 kids to Epcot for Princess lunch at Akershus, then dropped of teenagers at Disneyquest. Spent the rest of the day at hotel
Day 7 - shopping, resting and drove home that night

Well, kids and I have Disney fever and we are planning our next trip for 9 days at Fort Wilderness in December 07. DH is really good about listening to my plans and will answer if I ask his opinion about something. But, he just doesn't get excited about it like the rest of us do. He doesn't dislike WDW, he just thinks our obsession is laughable.

I ask you, is it maybe because he only went to TL & AK, that he didn't catch the "fever"? I'm hoping that once he sees how excited the kids get over stuff, he'll feel more like we do. Am I crazy?

I would say that he didn't really get to do or see much last time and that it will be much better this time.

I think Disney is like the chicken pox. Highly contagious, but you dont catch it until you come in contact with it. Its a poor substitutre but read him stories of people's magincal moments, like the one someone just posted about Star Tours.

Yes, I think it is contagious, but as others have said, only if you actually experience it. Staying at the hotel is not the same as being in the parks surrounded by all of the Disney magic! Next time, try to get him to do more things. Let him take the kids to the park or you all go to a character meal. Try to get to a park early and experience the excitement at park opening. See some of the nighttime shows - they're all terrific! Sure, the Disney hotels are great, but nothing compares to the magic inside the parks!

Thanks so much for the encouraging input. Maybe he'll never be as obsessed (a my dd15 puts it) as I've become, but I think he'll be more understanding once he does experience it fully. Our youngest dd and our grandbaby will both be 2.5 when we go, so I think they will fully immerse him into the magic. Wish me luck!!

In June I am taking my DD3 and my mom and my little brother (16). DH is staying home because he's one of those who doesn't "get it" despite spending A LOT of time in the parks on two different trips last year. :sad2:

I'm hoping that I'll be able to help my mom and my brother feel the magic the way I feel it when we are there! :goodvibes

I hear ya!!! My girls and I take several trips without dh during the year -- just a night or 2. He will usually come on our day trips and maybe 1 or 2 overnight trips a year. I just don't understand how some are so immune to Disney Fever. Fortunately, he is very understanding and doesn't mind "his girls" going by themselves. He's a pilot, and he loves that we're off having fun while he's working.
