Is DHS worth it?

We love going to the shows in DHS. You can fill a whole day doing those shows. We love the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Fantasmic, in addition to the rides. AK is a nice park too. Would you rather be entertained by theater or by animals? AK does have some awesome shows too. Festival of the Lion King is really entertaining. Didnt love the Finding Nemo show. I like the rides at DHS more, as limited as they are. Either way I think youll be ok.

I agree to adding another day to your ticket and doing all 4 parks at least once. Given this is your first trip and you don't mention if you will be back, it would be a shame to miss any of them. With the ages of your kids you could probably do HS in half day (I can't but most can) so that would give you a half day to relax. You could still get in your 2 days at MK if you think you need them. I also wouldn't miss AK, it's beautiful and well worth going to.

Like all the others I recommend doing all four parks if this is your first time. If you could add 1 day to the trip, I think it would really bring the trip together. It would only cost a little less than $50 to add a day for your entire family (combined). Even though there is a lot of construction going on in HS, the night time show--Fantasmic--- is worth it! IMHO, it is the best nightime spectacular in all of Disney. It is an amazing combination of water projections, live action, animatronics, water explosions, and water screens! If you come to the decision of skipping HS, please take 20 min or so to watch Fantasmic (the WDW edition) on youtube.

**On another note, Reconsider going to AK as well!

Given the age of your daughters I would choose 2 days of MK, HS, and choose between Epcot and AK. I think HS has a lot to offer young children. My DDs (15) favorite parks are MK followed by AK but I like MK and Epcot. if you and your DH feel like you would enjoy a day at Epcot or would like to dine at Epcot, then I would choose Epcot over AK. Also, AK can be the hottest park depending on temperatures during your travel. If you choose Epcot there are character meet and greets in the world showcase, character dinners, and Epcot it beautiful in the spring. We traditionally go to HS on arrival day in the late afternoon or evening and enjoy toy story mania.

This is exactly what we did on our first trip when DD was 6. We spent 2 days at MK, 1 day at Epcot (our favorite park), and 1 day at AK. We skipped DHS completely. After all, you can't see everything no matter what you do and we thought we would all enjoy AK more than DHS. We were right. DHS is definitely number four on our park list.

Don't forget Tower of Terror. My kids loved that ride as much as I do.

Agreed. ToT was my 8 year old daughter's favorite thing in all the parks. HS is great for little girls if they like shows. But so is AK. I'd get the 5 day tickets. Definitely worth it.

I would go and I'm not a big fan of DHS. There is plenty there still for the first-timer.

I would choose where to eat carefully. DHS is not known for its great food.
