Is Darkwing Duck anywhere to be seen?

I've never seen him in the parks. I had never given it much thought. I LOVED Darkwing Duck when I was younger, I'm sure I watched every single episode made. Disney should be coming up with fresh, creative ideas such as that one for their tv shows these days. Goof Troop was another great show. Now they make a films and turn them into tv shows, not very creative.

My whole family still misses those Disney Afternoon shows, Rescue Rangers, Ducktales,Tailspin, and Darkwing Duck. Darkwing is still my boys' (16 and 12) favorite. We haven't seen him in MK since they had their show in Mickey's Starland, and on our last 2 trips he was no where to be found ( although I WAS able to get them autographed pictures delivered to the room one day- that was 4 years ago, and they are still framed on their bedroom walls). Since we were there last in 2000, I recall a couple posts that people had occasionally seen him at MGM. We tried the character hotline while there, but were told he was fighting crimes in Duckburg! Sure wish we could get lucky this November!

Gosh, that brings back some memories...I've seen NOTHING Darkwing Duck in the parks for a number of years now.

I hope this helps you and doesn't make you mad that you didn't see it too.... but when we were there in March 26-30, we saw Darkwing Duck. He was in Epcot, with all the characters that are on the character bus that comes around. I don't remember seeing him on the bus or getting off or getting back on either, but I did see him around the walls where the leave a leagacy tiles and he had on his mask and cape. BTW, I don't know if it is available where you are at but in my town, we have the toon disney channel, and they show rescue rangers, my fave I must admit, and I'm 25, darkwing duck, talespin, and tarzan, hercules. It is only available to the digital cable subscribers, I hope this helps you.

I know I love those shows too! I remember when I would wake up in the morning at watch those before I left for school! :) Ahh, memories...

I'll be on the look out for "DW" when I go to Epcot in August. Maybe I'll be lucky :earboy2: ! :bday: trip... can't wait to eat my :cake: at WDW!

Every now and then they still come up with a creative new show for the Disney Channel that isn't a movie rip-off. Even though I am an adult, I absolutely love "Dave the Barbarian." The animation reminds me of George of the Jungle and cartoons of that ilk, and the humor is priceless...a lot of it seems more aimed at the parents than the kids. I looked in the parks but didn't see any Dave merchandise.

I think I called my cable company 100 times to request Toon Disney (Tune me into Toon Disney). We got it last year and I watch all the time (at 27 years old). I'm obsessed with the old Disney Afternoon shows (especially Darkwing Duck) and think I'd faint if I met him in person:teeth: . Here's hoping Duckburg is short on crime in July...

Well, that's a good sign that he was seen recently in Epcot! I'll just have to make sure I check the character hotline every day! For all you DW fans, don't forget the place in DTD that you can get tshirts etc personalized with characters and names. When we were there last, we got the boys tshirts and mugs with him on them!

Please tell me about the character hotline - never heard of it. Do you have the number?

Thanks,

Rhonna

The character hotline is the number CM's call to find out when and where characters are going to be throughout the day.

I asked this question before our trip last august and someone reported the only place they'd seen DWD is at MGM. He's like the only character I'd stand in line for (personally). ::yes::

Tink,

Thanks for the answer. I'll have to remember to ask a CM which characters are available. We don't often see unusual ones.

I met Launchpad McQuack by the entrance gates at AK last May. He's no Darkwing Duck, but I thought he was very cool to see and meet!;)

My family loves looking for unusual characters, and Darkwing Duck has always eluded us. We never seen him ever, as he is rarely in the parks. From remembering reading posts here in the past, I think some people had seen him near the Big Hat at MGM. I also been told he may make more appearances around Halloween. I was hoping he would be at MNSSHP and asked for him, but unfortunately he was not there. :(

Well, I hope our next trip is October, and we will be looking for Darkwing again! :)
