I am driving myself crazy trying to decide where to stay next trip and really want to try CR TPV. I am not sure we will be able to splurge on that yet. I am wondering for those of you who have stayed in the garden wing at the CR was it worth it? Did you enjoy it? The rooms are much cheaper and am thinking of booking that and then upgrade if we can afford it later.

Are the rooms the same size as the ones at the poly? We loved how spacious they felt!

Trying to decide where to stay is soooo hard! :rotfl:

I can't say that I have ever stayed in the Garden rooms, but I have stayed at BLT. One morning I ran around the entire property and thought the location of the garden rooms along the water looked like absolute heaven. I was shocked at how "cool" it felt. I have no idea what the rooms are like, but I am sure you will get some great input. All I can say is that I really liked the location. Sort of remote "away from it all" feel, with everything in close proximity.

Good luck with your decision.

I agree with MEK...the location of the Garden Wing rooms on the water DID make them absolute heaven. I preferred being out on the beach or in our GW room to being in the tower. The views from the tower, while beautiful, just weren't worth the money to us. For some they are, and I can respect that. I just figure that saves more GW space for us. :) I rooms are exactly the same as the ones in the tower, and they ARE spacious. We had 6 of us in the room (one was a baby), and we had more than enough space for people and for luggage. We appreciated the remote feel after spending all day in the parks.

I am going to be staying in the tower tpv in July. It was quite by accident as I had originally wanted gv. However, as I am traveling with my dd11 and dm70 I am happy that we will not have to walk to the gv rooms after arriving back from a day at the parks. It's definitely a luxury I wouldn't have done without the room discount though!!!!

The rooms in the garden wing are the exact same rooms as the tower, just a different location. It's a very quick walk to the tower, so you get all the same perks and less of the cost!

Thanks Wendy,
I noticed you did bonnet creek/cr gw split stay? how was that? we have considered that option as well as we like bonnet creek.

would cr gw still have appeal to our kids? i have it in my head they would only like tpv?!

I am thinking of doing just that. booking gw and then if discounts come out upgrade?!

I have only stayed CR TPV but I would NOT hesitate to stay in the GW. The name of the game is staying at CR no matter what the view. It is a fabulous resort with SO MUCH to offer. Your kids will definitely like the GW. There is the pool right near your room, plus the beach, the ducks, and the lake. It is awesome! The GW is not much of a walk from the tower so you can be inside pretty quickly. There are entry way doors on both sides of the tower so you can choose to go in the doors closest to the pool or the front ones which enter more into the lobby.

Even if staying in the GW, you will be close to all the restaurants, shops, arcade, and elevators up to the monorail and it won't take long to get to the bus stop or being on your way over to the MK!!

Good luck with your decision. So many overlook the CR because the theme doesn't appeal to them. But once you stay there, you will know why those of us who love it continue to rave about it! Being able to walk to and from the MK is priceless!

I haven't stayed at the Poly but did stay at CR in a garden wing, garden view room.

I loved that room. It was spacious and we had a nice view. I kept the curtains open alot.

One thing to keep in mind is there are no balconies in the garden wing. If you get a first floor room (we did not), there is a patio for you to sit outside on with 2 chairs and a tiny table. So if that is important, you'll want to request a first floor room.

I loved how close the garden wing was to the pool and the beach. I spent plenty of time at both that trip. And it wasn't too bad going to the 4th floor food court or the buses.

I also loved the stores at CR.

You should try it.

We have stayed in the GW rooms as well. While the tower is awesome, I would stay again in the wings no problem. Both my husband and I really liked it. I think it is the best "budget" deluxe room there is.

Have not stayed in a GW room but we are considering it for the summer. I wanted to offer my experience at BLT in a TPV room. While we like BLT (thought the studios are tiny!), we were underwhelmed with the TPV. The rooms really overlook a parking lot with the castle in the distance. I'm not sure if it was the time of year (Jan), but the castle when completely dark at 10pm every night so we sat on the balcony expecting to enjoy the castle and were surprised when that didn't happen. We won't use points for a TPV room again....it just wasn't worth it for us.

I wanted to share because I know so many people say a TPV room at CR is their dream and it can be a disappointment if your expectations are too high :)

CR is one of the resorts I have the least amount of interest in staying at, for my own reasons.

That being said, I am booked there, in a garden wing room for my September trip. My BFF and I are leaving the hubbies and kids behind and doing the MNSSHP and Food & Wine! :cool1:

For me, it is "worth it" because I know I will appreciate being able to walk to/from the MK for the party and also to take the monorail to/from Epcot for the festival.

Since my family has NOOOO interest in staying at CR, and I have a goal to stay at each resort, this is the perfect chance. That makes it worth it to me. :goodvibes

What will you like/value about staying there? And what are you willing to pay for what you want? That's how you are going to determine if it's worth it, not by asking others, IMHO.

Good luck deciding! :flower3:
