Is Columbus Day week busy?

We are planning on going to Disney 10/11-10/17 (Sat - Fr). I just realized that Columbus Day is that Monday.
How will that effect the crowds? I chose Oct since I knew it was the least crowded times, and am now concerned with Columbus Day weekend.

Any feedback?

Crowded, but not like the summer or other peak holidays like Easter, Christmas, etc.
Not all schools have off for Columbus Day. It was fine in the mornings when the parks first opened and got progressively more crowded as the day got later. Get to the parks early and enjoy!

We are also going that week, 10/10-10/19. I realize that it will probably be crowded on the weekend...though does it stay crowded that entire week?

We were at WDW in 06 for that weekend and it was so great that we are planning on going this year too (Wed - Mon)

It was Canadian Thanksgiving in 2006 also which increased the crowds slightly. And it was EPCOT Food and Wine Festival.

Our school system is actually off from 10/9/08 (which is Yom Kippur) through Columbus Day. A 6 day WDW vacation with only missing 1 day of school

Now you have me worried that it will be overly crowded.
I read that the week after Labor Day until the week before Thanksgiving is the least crowded time.
Did I pick the wrong week?????

Crowded is really a realtive thing at WDW....
I've gone at all different times of the year and the last two years at WDW (around Columbus Day, many schools' fall break) the crowds have increased over previous years. That is my experience...like stated before, it isn't as crowded as other times of year.
Yes, it was the whole week and not just the Columbus Day Weekend....
"Overly crowded", you needn't worry about, but the parks do fill up. Last year, AK was wall to wall people by early afternoon.
Have a good touring plan, know what you want to do, make your ADRs and go to the parks early and you will have a good time!
