Is Cinderella's Royal Table worth it?

Hi all I'm hoping you can help me with your opinions. I currently have reservations for lunch at the castle one day of my trip with my mom and dd 3 and niece 13. I am reading a lot of reviews of how the experience and food is not worth the price. We are on the dining plan and are using 2 table services each. I thought my dd would love the idea of eating at the castle. She definitely wants to meet Cinderella. I also booked 1900 Park Fare for dinner another day which has had wonderful character reviews. Food is not the biggest issue for me. I am going for my daughter and the kids menu is the same everywhere. Is it worth doing both or should I scrap the castle and save the money.
Thanks in advance
Michelle:confused:

If you are going for the expereince than I say go. It's really cool to eat inside the castle, but IMHO the food is not worth it.

I'd suggest breakfast if you do anything. Food was ok last year, dd6 getting her picture with Cinderella and having the various princesses coming around was neat too.

Absoutely worth it. Great atmosphere and good food. Think about it how many times do you eat in a Castle :)

For us, it was absolutely worth it. It was both of my kids' favorite thing we did at Disney. You do get the picture with Cindy and meet all the princesses at lunch just like at breakfast. It is not optional for our next trip according to my daughter.

IMO it was worth it for the first time. We went for the 2nd time in Feb and it was not as magical for the kids. It was surely not worth $143 for breakfast!!!! And to boot i got food poisoning from there this visit. Yuck!

If you have never eaten in the Castle before, then I say by all means go and have fun. We have only eaten breakfast once in the castle and have thought about going back for our March trip but the cost just keeps us away. In fact our favorite Princess breakfast is the PBS in Norway. Don't get me wrong the food at CRT was delicious and the Princess interaction was priceless, but I just don't like to fork over that amount of money when I can get another Princess character meal somewhere else for less.

I recently went to lunch with my DD age 26. We did not like the food at all and we are not very fussy...if you are not there for the food and love princess character's it is great...there were little kids all around us smiling from ear to ear, boys and girls....all the Princesses stopped at our table too....

The atmosphere is wonderful and we enjoyed seeing the castle but I believe breakfast has better food(from what I have read) This was the only restaurant were we hardly ate anything...we were on the DxDP.

We always go for breakfast- never been to lunch. The food is ok- dh says the stuffed french toast is worth the trip to him! DD9 however, thinks it is a must. It truly is the highlight of her trip each time. She was so happy when the princesses were introduced last year that she teared up (Jasmine was there and has always been her favorite) My whole family is going this year- 11 of us- and we have all done the castle. I knew dd would want to go to CRT, but wasn't sure about my nieces who are 13 and 16. Both said absolutely! So yes, for us it is worth it. The atmosphere and experience are priceless (it is very steep though!) But, dd will only be little once. And 3 years old is such a magical age- she will love eating in Cinderella's castle- dd used to think her bedroom is upstairs! (she still may!)

We are doing breakfast and paying out of pocket. I can get a much better value for 2 TS credits then then this one meal. We have never been to the castle to eat so that why we are doing it this trip.

We went to lunch in August and it was definitely worth it for us! DD was thrilled with the castle and meeting the princesses. We saw Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora and Belle.
Also, I seem to be going against the grain but we thought the food was fabulous! Maybe it depends on what you order, or maybe we're all crazy,:lmao: but everything we had was very good. DMom and I both had the Major Domo's Pie and the chocolate buckle for dessert. DS9 had the kids' salmon and berry sorbet for dessert and DD5 had the kids' hot dog with chicken noodle soup (she really liked the soup) and a kids' sundae for dessert.
We didn't eat at any other princess meals on the trip (we did CP and Tusker House) and this was definitely a highlight of the week for us.:thumbsup2

We have dinner booked for our June trip. It's just me and DH. We think it's worth trying. We are both looking forward to it -- it's the castle. How often do we get a chance to eat there? :cool1:

Our family of four enjoyed lunch in the castle last summer. The experience was worth the price, and two of us rave about Major Domo's Favorite Pie. I can still taste that cabernet sauce. We had a scrumptious chocolate dessert.

NO!! WORST SERVICE I"VE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!

they overbooked and we didnt get seated, instead we were asked to join another couple but since we didnt want to we got IGNORED and snubbed by the hostess and left uniformed about if we were even getting seated at all!!!
The show started and we missed it, the photo guy had to come find us in the waiting room and was surprised we were not upstairs... really ME TOO!
I booked so far in advance and made that my romantic last meal before being married and they TOTALLY ruined it. HORRIBLE!

Never done it nor do I think I ever plan on doing it. If I'm going to spend that kind of money on food regardless if I'm in the castle or not, I'll go eat at Narcoossee's where I know the food is very good. I've just heard too many stories where the food really wasn't good or just mediocre. I want exceptional food for that price.

But I agree with something someone else said about if you are going to do it don't use the DDP TS credits. Pay for it OOP and save those TS credits for other meals.

It's worth it for the reasons you mentioned - your DD wants to eat in the castle and loves Cinderella. Yep - do it! We had breakfast and it was good.

And yes, I would do both CRT and 1900.

If you've never been, I think it's worth going, but be aware that they are trying to get a lot of people in and out of a small space fast, so be prepared to bring your own "magic". We've gone many times over the past 20 years (starting when we could walk up for lunch!), and it's become a pretty impersonal, crowded and rushed experience compared to even a couple of years ago.

Put it this way - I'd go if: I'd never been and wanted to see the inside of the castle, or if the children in my party considered it a "must do", but I wouldn't bother otherwise. That being said, much of life is attitude, so take a good one and have fun!

We've gone for lunch every trip for the last few years. As other posters have mentioned the character interaction is good, but it isn't as good as it was even two years ago. They really do rush you more now, and the princesses used to come and really visit at your table. Now they come by, give a quick hug or comment, pose for a picture, and race off to the next table. (I would say we got about a minute and a half of each princess' time until our trip last May; starting then, we've gotten maybe 30 seconds.)

We've only been for lunch. (We just don't get up and into the parks early enough to do breakfast.) I think the food is the best we've had in the MK, but that isn't saying much. It isn't bad, but it is nowhere near the quality of all the other 2 credit places.

I think it is an experience worth doing. (DS couldn't care less... but I just love the photos. Well, I say that, but he really enjoyed his sword last trip. I have a great picture of him "challenging" Jasmine with it.) I even think it is an experience worth repeating.
