Is Cinderealla Royal Table Worth it ? Dining with 2 Boys

I should add I have three sons who would have died before they would have eaten at the the castle with a bunch of little girls and Princesses!

LOL! Yeah, I was thinking about telling my boys that there might be dragons inside. But, that would be mean and lying and not setting a good example :)

Personally no. I've been there once and would not go again. The food for me is not good and there are limited drink options. I think the best TS in MK is Be Our Guest but if you want another true Character Dining Meal I would suggest Akershus in Norway in Epcot. Cocktails, good food and you don't have to wait on a long line even though you have a reservation. Good luck with whatever you choose!

So if it helps you out any I posted pretty much this exact same question like 6 months ago and got pretty much the opposite points of view. I've got 2 boys (12 and 8) - the 12 year turns 13 this year and thought it would be cool to eat in the castle. So we booked it for a try after I posted here and got tons of responses saying that you should try it at least once. So I would take the opinions here with a grain of salt as it is all about who sees your post and responds that day. We are doing it next month, so I can't offer my opinion. But I would go in the direction of your gut. Personally I'm happy we picked it for a new experience on this trip.

I can't decide if it is worth 2 dining credits for Cinderella's Royal Table. I have always wanted to dine in the castle, but not particularly crazy about princesses.

I have 2 boys ages 6 and 9 who aren't crazy for princess either. I took them to see Anna and Elsa last year and the looks on their faces was hysterical!

Should I just let this one go? Is it extra special and magical or just built up in my head? We are a little tight on credits as it is since I would like to go to Hoop de Do and the Candlelight Procession.

Thanks!
I'd say it's a pass with young boys.
Maybe when they're older, they'll like princesses though.

our six year old has been with us a couple of times and enjoyed it. he happily agreed to go in june for his baby sisters 1st visit.

Yeah I agree with the other posters - do something else. We went for breakfast in November and never again! It was our least favorite of the trip. The portions were small, we were rushed through the whole meal (we weren't even there a whole hour), the princesses were rushed. That wouldn't be my first choice with boys.. Garden Grill would be great or even Crystal Palace if you are looking for a MK sit down, or even dinner at BOG which is amazing. I just don't get the love for CRT at all.. Over $200 for 3 adults and 1 child for breakfast is outrageous and even 2 TS credits felt like we wasted them there - I get that you are paying for the castle experience.. but we couldn't even enjoy the "experience" since we were pushed out of there so fast. We do love Akershus and will stick with that for breakfast - great food and plenty of it for 1 TS credit, princesses were great and we actually got to enjoy our meal without being rushed.

If it has been your dream the go for it!!!! We ate there once with our oldest and have not been back since. However, my little guy has never gotten to eat in the castle so we are going again in the fall. You are paying for the experience of eating in the castle. As long as you know that, you will enjoy it.

I have been several times with daughters and now granddaughters. It has always been a wonderful experience until this year. I will never go back. We were rushed through breakfast. We were only there about 40 minutes. In the past we were offered more food if we wanted it and the food was delicious. This year the menu
was changed to unappetising food in very small portions. When I asked for refills on iced tea, the waiter brought it in go cups so that we could GO ! He even said "I thought it would be better to bring it in a go cup". The whole experience felt like it was set on fast forward. The Akershus experience is only 1 credit and is in a castle also (although not in THE castle!)

We just got back yesterday and had breakfast at CRT Saturday. This was dd11's birthday breakfast. I have two boys also and they thought it was cool to go into the castle. We had a late breakfast and it was emptying out (10:30am) and the boys got swords (dd got a wand) which they loved and had sword fights all though the castle and had a blast. They posed with the suits of armor and loved looking out the window at the park. It was great because the it was not crowded because they were about to switch lunch.

My boys are 8 and 10 and with my daughter turning 11 it was more about being in the castle and not about meeting the princesses although they were fun. The princess meets were only a few minutes of our time there and they referred to the boys as knights and said thank you for protecting the castle. The boys who are usually too cool for everything totally ate it up.

I would 100% go at least once! You will love it! This was my first time eating in the castle and it was amazing after walking by it for years.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I'm a 42 year old woman with 2 sons. Maybe its just time for me to let go of the dream of eating in the castle :)

I am in your exact situation. My boys are both sports fanatics and are not into princesses at all. However, we went to CRT our last trip and they loved it. They didn't really care that much about the character interaction, but they loved being in the castle and loved having "fancy" meals. The desserts were a big hit.

While I didn't think the food was all that great, it was fine. We ate dinner in the castle and timed it to be inside when the fireworks were going off. It was very cool to do that. I guess my point is, if you really want to do it, then go for it. It is an enjoyable enough meal and there is no experience like being inside the castle.

I liked it when I was younger because I love princesses and I thought the castle itself was magical, but I remember the food being just okay, not great at all. Glad I did it once, but I still love princesses and would never do it again. I say no-go with boys

I have two boys and I'd like to do CRT nezt time, but more for my mom, who loves Cinderella. My boys do like princesses though. My thought is that this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for my mom and I want to make it special for her.

Thanks!

Done the Castle twice... once when my daughter was just the right age and once when she was not even 1 year but my oldest son was ~4.... I remember him coming up to me right after having taken his picture with Cinderella and he said "Dad, I love her" I said ME TOO son, ME TOO! PRICELESS!

NO!

I was disappointed in so much with CRT. One being the restrooms. Disgusting and messy.

We aren't picky eaters but found the food to be underwhelming. The interaction with characters was super fast.

Overall, not worth the 2 TS credits.

And where's Rapunzel?! She needs to be in there, too!

WIth boys that age who have no interest in meeting the Princesses? I'd let it go. I love the Castle and dine there periodically with friends or with my girls, but I woudl nto pay that money if no one wanted to meet the Princesses.

I don't know if you have a Husband, but here's what I would do for my wife. I would split the family up for this experience. Give you and your daughter the chance to dine at CRT and the Husband would take the boys on the best equivalent Character dining at the same time.

Don't use 2 dining credits but if you really want to do it go for breakfast and pay for it OP. I think it is definitely worth doing once just to get to eat in the castle and if your two boys aren't interested then go have a nice breakfast by yourself.

Exactly my suggestion!!

Do you travel alone with your boys? If not, maybe split up and enjoy some time to yourself eating in the castle! If my husband and daughter are planning on riding the horses, or playing on the sea racers, I'll make plans during that time to do something that I want to do that they wouldn't be thrilled about. Win-win!
