Are others having a hard time getting an ADR for Chef Mickey's for the week of September 17th?

I had 3 possible dates for Chef Mickeys for dinner (Sun 9/17, Thurs 9/21 and Sat 9/23) and I could not get anything on any day except for 9:00pm [which of course is not only super late but conflicts with Wishes].

I ended up booking an 8:00 pm on Wed 9/20 but that date is simply not going to work with our park schedule so now it looks like I am reduced to a 9pm on 9/21 and skipping Wishes that night (we will see wishes on Sun 9/17 and Sat 9/23 so I guess it is not a big deal).

But I was so surprised it was so difficult to get this ADR! At least it is me and my husband only - no kids - so 9pm will be okay I guess.

Does anyone know if you can take the Monorail from the Contemporary back to the TTC? If I make my ADR on Thurs 9/21 we are at MK all day so my plan is to take the monorail from MK to the Contemporary for the 9pm ADR and then take the monorail back to the TTC to get our car...will that work?

Even a 9pm Chef Mickey's ADR is still going to make for a fabulous WDW trip!!

Here is my (subject to revisions) ADR schedule:

Sun 9/17 -- first day at WDW -- Ohana at 5:40 and then MK
Mon 9/18 -- Epcot day --- Marakesh at 700pm
Tues 9/19 -- MGM day --- Mama Melrose at 600pm
Wed 9/20 -- Water Park /Ak day --- Boma at 830pm
Thurs 9/21 -- MK day -- Chef Mickey's at 900pm
Fri 9/22 -- AK day -- WCC at 540pm
Sat 9/23 -- Hopping Day / MK day -- Tony's at 700pm

Thanks for reading.
Any input or comments are welcome!

If you take the resort monorail, it stops at Contemp., TTC, Poly, GF, and MK (in that order). So, yes, the monorail's next stop after the Contemp. IS the Ticket/Trans. Center.

The resort monorail is the one that goes clockwise around the lake.

You're right in the heart of the free dining offer...and not only that, people have been making ADRs for your time frame since mid-March! But keep calling back and you may get a cancellation closer to the date you want.

Good luck!

I think CM dinner is getting harder to get because I it is becoming alot folks first nite tradition.

I think it's always been fairly hard to get--I had trouble in 2003! This time, I got it for July without problem, but I did call way back in February.

You can always try for an earlier time, even after you arrive. DD wanted to change our dining plans....I called and was told there was no availability for the next 3 nights. I called about 4 hours later and was told that there was an opening for 5:45 that evening!

No, I didn't hang on the phone....but I called before and after our pool afternoon. People do cancel and things do open up.

I just called for Sept 18th and got my first choice of 6:20. She made it sound like there were a lot of choices for dinner on the 18th. Maybe you could try another date?

I would keep checking...people cancel all the time.

Like us...
we had a WDW trip planned for Aug.13-20 but we canceled it last week.

We have some fantastic Adrs, all dinners, for that week (Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, WCC, to name a few). All times for 6 -7pm.

I haven't been able to cancel the ADRs though because my list with all the confirmation #s is at my mother's house & she's on vacation right now!!

When she gets back, I'm going to cancel all of them so that other people can snap up my good time slots. :) There are going to be some very HAPPY people who get my ADRs times!!

BTW, I made these ADRs the 1st day the Free Dining was offered.

I tried for Chef Mickey's for 9/23 around 7pm for 2, but all I could get was 9pm. I really wanted to go to CM the night we got there to pump us up for the week, but 9pm is to late especially since we will be driving down from Jersey. I ended up cancelling and getting 9/24 at 8p. I think with the free dining plan things are booking up!

Maybe getting harder. I made ours about 3 weeks ago. We got what we wanted within 10 minutes of the time I asked for. A Friday night, the 22nd of Sept., at 6:40 p.m.

I was easily able to book CM's at the 180 mark and a few weeks ago was easily able to move it to the First full day we are there. I moved it to a Saturday night at the end of July.

I’m also going in September. I have a reservation for Chef Mickey’s that I’m going to cancel. It’s for 9/17 at 6:00pm for 4 adults. We had to change our flight time and we won’t be able to make in to the restaurant by 6:00pm. Let me know if you could use this ADR. Maybe we can call around the same time, I cancel and you get the time you need. :cool1:

We had no problems booking our dinner, for our July trip, about a week ago. I also booked one for our November trip, at the 180 day mark, without any problems.

Maybe the middle of July won't be as crowded as I thought? :)

CM is getting hard to get into...I called about 75 days out for our trip in May and the earliest time we could get in was 8:50...but I kept calling...daily and I lucked out and was able to get a spot at 5:15 which is what I wanted...all I can say is keep trying...and to all of the people who aren't going to keep their ressies...CANCEL them...not enough people do that!

I think with the free dining plan everyone is doing it. Plus the fact that many people make multiples reservations and then decide where to eat later forgetting to cancel the ones they won't be using.

i love the cm dinner for the fun and interaction but food was really bad last dec
but we couldnt get it once on our trip and we are there for 10 days in august

I currently have adt for 9/30@ 5 for 5 people. Somebody else is jumping on the bandwagon and the only ressie they have for that day is 8:20 :sad2:

Iam not giving up but how often is too often to call? Should i call everyday?
thanks

p.s. thought we were having trouble due to party size but guess that is not the case.

I talked to a dining CM yesterday (she was such a sweetheart, I wish I could remember her name!!! I want to say Angela, she had a beautiful Spanish accent) and we were talking about ADR availability and what was hot and what was cooling off. I got my first choice of time for HDDR, which they take ADR's for a year out, and it's only 4 months away. I told her I was surprised, and she was more than willing to talk about restaurant popularity. she said the "new CRT" was Akershus for the girls but Chef Mickey's was really picking up as well compared to previous levels and the restaurants were sort of splitting the Cindy folks. Lots of people calling to cancel Cindy's. Hottest ticket in any park for any type of meal: Le Cellier, she said it was getting to the point even at slower times of the year that days were filling up on the 180 mark first thing in the morning and it is often impossible to get an ADR there.

So yeah, sounds like Chef Mickey's is going to be a tough one now. :(

It's probably too late now. But I cancelled CM for 7:20 for 4 on 9/23 last night. I'm sure it's long gone now... :guilty:
