Is Chef Mickeys really that hard to get?

I had no prob (at the 90 day mark) getting my chef mickey but trying to change it a few weeks later was a pain...

I was able to get several breakfast choices 30 days before our trip, but there was nothing available for lunch or dinner.

I mananged to snag a Chef Mickey's ADR for a party of 12 the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Granted, it is at 9:10PM, but that is good for us since my brother and sister-in-law have to work that day and it gives them plenty of time to make it to Orlando (they are somewhat local, living about an hour away) and more time for us in Epcot.

I've about decided that the popularity of restaurants goes in phases. Our first trip, it was impossible to get CRT for b'fast and LeCellier. Now it seems like Ohana and 1900 Park Fare are the hot tickets. :confused3 I don't think there seems to be any rhyme or reason to the ease or difficulty in getting certain ressies.

We are staying at the Contemporary from 11/23 - 28 and the only thing I could get at CM's was breakfast on the day we check-out. Better than nothing, I suppose....

we just got back from our first WDW trip..which coincided with the first week of free dining, which was on purpose by the way :). I called at 7am on our 90 day mark. they didn't open up online ADR's for liek 2 weeks later, so couldn't use that. Iwas able to get a 7:05am at CM for Wed 8/19, which is what I wanted. And a 5:00pm dinner at CM for Sat Aug 22nd, also when I wanted it. But We actually ended up cancelling our CM dinner in Friday aug 21. We decided we wanted another meal at crystal palace instead and while waiting for rope drop thursday , 8/20 I called disney dining to see ig I could get a ressie at CP. Well, first call around 8:00, no availablilty, but when I called back about 10am I believe, I got a 4:55pm ADR at CP on Sat the 22. so almost the same time as CM that we were replacing. We had already had luch at CP on our first day, AUg 16, and after disappointing meals at Park Fare and Hollywood and Vine. The food was good at both places, but didn't match up to the variety we had at CP, we didn't really want to eat CM for dinner if we could get back into CP. So glad we were able to get the ADR. Now CM for breakfast was off the hook. It was good.
