Is Chef Mickey's really that bad?

I've always enjoyed Chef Mickey's. No the food is not 5 star, fine dining. However, I've always found things on the large buffet that I really enjoyed. The character interactions are very good and it is a fun atmosphere.

I was there for Dinner in 2014. I was not impressed with the food. I actually thought (/gasp) that Hollywood and Vine food was better.

IMO, it's a Golden Corral with characters. If you're willing to pay to have the characters at your table for a couple minutes, more power to you. Just not our cup of tea any more.

Yes. We went when our kids were young. We have not been back in many years. We still go to most of the other character meals but along with CP, these are the two I would never go to again. (Well, maybe to take grandchildren once, eventually.)

It's been a couple of years since we've dined at CM, but it used to be a yearly tradition for us. The character interaction was great from what I remember and it's definitely a lively atmosphere. The food is just hit or miss and as others have mentioned the buffet is usually always dirty from kids fixing their own plates.

I think if the dinner prices were cheaper we would maybe go back, but there are just so many better options food wise for the price. I say you should do it at least once as long as your expectations are not very high
