we can't get dinner or bf during our stay, and wondering if they are open for lunch like the summer FD?

You can book one of the latest possible breakfast seatings. We wanted lunch for our upcoming NOV. stay but they don't offer that. So we got something around 11:20am(ish). We're rope droppers and will eat a quick breakfast in the hotel room, and we won't mind having breakfast food again during our lunchtime.

the reason i asked, was there was no availability our week during BF or dinner, but wondered if they opened up Lunch during free dining.

there hasn't been general public free dining over this time period that I know of, so I don't think there is any previous history to go on. It would be great for us b/c we also have an 11:20 ressie for "breakfast for lunch".

I was upset that they didn't have any openings during our stay! I guess that is what I get for planning last minutes (45 days before going).

. . . yep
. . . ressies are hard to get
. . . the new 180-day ressie period will be a big help
. . . except when you get close, like at 45-days

. . . during Free Dining, they have been open for lunch about 1/2 the time
. . . no announcement for the upcoming Free Dining
. . . usually the decision is made based upon the amount of bookings
. . . if the ad campaign brings in the bookings, expect it
. . . if the ad campaign doesn't bring in the folks, do not expect it

We are going durring that time too. I just got reservations this morning for 16 people for dinner, but its kind of late - 7.15pm Guess its a popular place!

7:15 would have been great time for us,. maybe all the 4ppl tables are booked up thats why i am having hard time with ADR's :confused3

does anybody know the chances of walking up without a ressie?? We r planing on going on our one non-park day, but ressies are full. we wouldnt mind waiting an hour and checking out the Contemporary. Any tips??

1) Chef Mickeys normally just turns you away.
2) They do not take walk-ups.
3) Sometimes it works if you are the FIRST IN LINE at meal time.

In the past my family and have walked up there without an ADR around 7:30 PM, so sometimes it does work and we were lucky they had room available.

I have never been able to do a walk up at Chef Mickeys. However, the later you show up the better. If you show up say at 8:30ish you may have a chance since that is when it starts to clear out. But before that... it is very difficult and 90% of the time they will turn you away.
