I would like some info too as I was planning to eventually PS for this breakfast, my DS14 rolls his eyes at everything, but would it be good for DS9??

I've heard good things about it so we are also giving it our first try for our December trip. I have heard several people warn that the buffet is picked over and the restaurant messy / dirty for the later seating times. For that reason we are making PS for the earliest available seating time.

I am in a definite minority here, but I don't go to Chef Mickey's for the food. My wife disagrees with me, but for a Disney buffet, I feel what they offer is mediocre at best.

Having said that, there is NO OTHER CHARACTER BREAKFAST that comes close to the atmosphere, fun and energy of Chef Mickeys. From the minute you enter the restaurant area, you are almost engulfed with Disney magic and energy. It's loud, it's fast-paced, it's happy, it's fun ... it embodies everything that is Disney!

If you have children, I believe it is a must-do meal. Sure you can meet these characters in the parks, but you won't see characters "sliding into home plate" or dancing with people or making children squeal with delight at their hilarious antics. There is singing, there is laughter, there are pictures being taken all over the place.

I would give the food a C+.
I would give the atmosphere, fun and antics an A+++.
Even the servers get into the fun sometimes.

Yes, it can be crowded, so I recommend booking either an early PS or a late one.

It is at the Contemporary Resort, so you can take a Disney bus to the TTC and hop the monorail or if you have a car, you can drive over there.

Texan: your DS14 will probably roll his eyes at first, but I suspect after a little while he will get sucked into the fun. Your DS9 will probably love it.

I would defenitly go to Chef Mickeys. My husband and I have gone at least once every time we go to Disney. We do not have any children but we love the character interaction, it just makes you feel like you are in the middle of the magic. we ususally make early PS so the food is fresh so we have never had a problem with the food. Enjoy your trip

First time we tried Chef Mickeys was in Oct of 96. DDs (13, almost 11, and 3) They loved it. This past April we tried Storybook Princess Breakfast, we think Chef Mickeys was better. More of a food selection than a preplated food. We are staying at CR for 2 nights this next trip and plan on eating at Chef Mickeys for breakfast.

I haven't been to it in a few years, but from what I recall, it was great. Lots of food choices, everything was very yummy and great character interaction.

We've done Chef Mickey's 4 times over the years. We've been for both dinner and breakfast. I preferred the Breakfast meal. We actually had a late seating for breakfast and loved it. The restaraunt was practically empty. My DD had tons of character attention. Lots of hugs and dancing. The food was plentiful and seemed clean enough. It was a great way to start our day. We slept in, had a great breakfast and were off to MK. Best wishes for a great vacation.:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

WE have been a few times in the past and hve loved both the food adn atmosphere so much we are going all three days of our upcoming trip. we eat early so as not to miss out on the parks, but everything was very yummy and DS loves it too. Good luck.

I'm not a huge breakfast person but the last two trips have included a Chef Mickey's breakfast. It has a great atmosphere and the character interaction is the best that we've experienced. This year we made a PS for CRT so I think this will be our first year with no Chef Mickey's. The food here was always good, not great, but its breakfast so it doesn't really do anything for me anyway. I'm sure you'll love it!:earsboy:

chef mickeys has become a do not miss for us. our vacation wouldnt be complete without it. it will be crowded but its lots of fun. Even my sister (20) enjoyed it. have fun

I've been to a few character breakfasts and this is my favorite! Good food, great character interaction.

We're doing chef mickey's for dinner and CP for breakfast. Why don't you check out the menus on http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm and see if one sounds better than the other. THey also have reviews on this web site. You might see something in particular that interests you better. For me it was the parmesan potatoes. I can't wait to try those at CM and the breakfast lasagna at CP. Hope you have fun whatever you choose.

MissUssH,

You can also take the boat from Ft. Wilderness to the Contemporary. It's a nice ride!

We've taken our DS (now 3) to CM several times and he just loves it. The atmosphere is great and the food is not bad. It does get very busy but they usually have one of the characters entertaining the waiting people (once it was Goofy - last time it was Donald) and your pager covers the whole floor...you can browse in several shops while you wait. Another plus? Kids love going throught the Contemporary on the monorail and getting out to go meet Mickey.

I highly recommend it for kids! The dinner there is nice, too.

Another thunmbs up for Chef Mickey's. We went in January and it was just awesome. From reading on allears everyone was saying you can't go wrong with this breakfast. We went for a booking around 11:00 and the place was still hoping. The characters were so involved with the kids and they came to our table at least twice if not three times. We found the food great and all warm and not cold at all. The hash browns that were shredded with cheese in them were just:earseek: Still waiting to find the recipe.

You can't go wrong with this choice:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Ate breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Friday 8/27 with a party of seven at 10:30 am. Not picked over at all. Breakfast was much better than I expected especially the vegetable frittata. It was still quite busy and loud but that is part of the charm. All the characters came by rather quickly, but I am not complaining as it was very busy. We ate there our first morning to get in the DIsney mood and we always take a round trip on the monorail for that first look at the World. It's also a good time to ask to sit in the front with the monorail driver as most people are allready in the parks by then.
