In looking at cruise prices, regardless of the month or how far out I look, Cat 8 rooms seem to run $300-$400 more than Cat 9 for a 7-day cruise. For those of you who have sailed in both Cat 8 and Cat 9 rooms, do you feel that it is worth the extra money to be on a higher deck?

Besides the higher deck, is there any other benefit?

Thanks.

Yes I think so. First you are on a higher deck and second, the some of the lower decks have the smaller windows instead of the huge one you will definately have on the higher deck. I am not sure I would pay much more than that though.

callahanjulie10,

Sorry I didn't specify. I meant Cat 9, Deck 2. I'm assuming the windows on Deck 2 are the same as the upper decks, correct?

I know not to book a Cat 9, Deck 1 (two small port holes).
