Is Captain EO kid-friendly?

my dd who is 7 got completely freaked out and threw a major tantrum while we were there (she has sensory processing disorder, so I'm sure that was part of it). she got really scared and asked dh to leave, but he didn't want to leave mid-way since we were about as far away from the exit as we could possibly be. I think it was the witch that scared her. with the glasses on it looks like she is reaching out to you. Then when the floor started moving I think it was the final straw for her. She absolutely loved Star Tours though.

My 3 yr old was also scared. I sat by her and tried to keep her happy. I did take off her glasses a few times and covered her eyes for her. and yes, the film is blurry without the glasses.

Awesome! Is it just temporary? Or is it there pretty much for the indefinite future?

I'd say temporary, but it's still pulling in bigger crowds than Honey, I Shrunk the Audience (or Muppetvision!) and I haven't heard any recent rumors of a replacement. Until one or both of those things happen, I would be surprised to see Captain EO go away.

It's actually a whole lot of fun to go see; the CMs have a lot of fun with it. We had one who got us all dancing and making Michael Jackson sounds before the show (she was shocked that we did everything she asked!). I've also heard some cute lines from the CM telling you to leave, too). I think the music/dancing adds to the repeatability factor as well.

If I had a 3-year-old and wanted to see the show myself, I think I'd show it to him or her on YouTube to take away some of the witch's scariness in a familiar situation. But I suppose you just never know how kids will react. :confused3

Thanks for sharing that..my dd3 has SPD as well so..now that you have mentioned this I think I will pass on it for her..I will trade off with DBF and take my DN10 to see it..she is fine with witches, etc. so should not be a problem for her..
Now that I have read about how much fun it is ( with CM participation and so forth) I really must see it!!
