Is Boardwalk Bakery similar to Starring Rolls?

When visiting Hollywood Studios we would always have lunch at Starring Rolls. I know they didn't have many options, but we enjoyed their sandwiches. We will miss them on our upcoming trip. Is Boardwalk Bakery similar at all? I see they have sandwiches (and other yummy treats), but I'm looking for opinions on visiting the bakery for a light lunch or dinner.

We haven't been since 2014 but thought Boardwalk Bakery was great! We ate there a few times (stayed at Beach Club).

I don't think you can go wrong there for lunch or dinner. The sandwiches were filling!

Boardwalk Bakery does have some sandwiches and other items available. Later in the day they do tend to run out of some items so If there is something you really want I wouldn't plan to visit too late in the day. Case in point, a number of times I have stopped in before returning to my Villa for the night hoping to pick up something for breakfast the next morning only to find that what I was planning to buy was sold out for the day. I would also not recommend taking time out from a day at HS just to travel to & from Boardwalk solely to eat a meal from the Boardwalk Bakery. If you are planning to hop from DHS to Epcot or another park then it might be worth the detour, you can catch a bus to MK, AK or DS from the Boardwalk bus stop.

The times I've been to Boardwalk Bakery, the line was rather long. For example, half hour wait to get breakfast. I agree with the PP that it's not worth a special trip from DHS. I will also miss Starring Rolls.

You could get an early light lunch somewhere on the way in to DHS, or get your light dinner at Disney Springs where there are more QS options.
