Is this a good time for Disney? I have read in multiple places that Disney was very very slow today.

I checked the app and many rides were under 20 mins. I think PP was 40, but that is good for that ride! AK appeared empty, most things were 5 or 10 mins. Everest was 10. TT was only 30. I guess with spring breaks being done, but schools not being out yet it must be slow?

We went the first week of May a few years back, the crowds were on the lower side but it got pretty hot a few days (high 90s).

Ok thanks. I guess I never thought of going at this time. I would think the temps would be lower than summer, and not as much rain.

Probably one of the best, If not the best times of the year to go...Lots of things happening at this time....Great weather too, and not many closings either.:confused3

Early May is fantastic! Just returned from a trip May 4-10 and I have a thread in this forum about my experiences. Relatively low levels (of course there were higher levels at times, especially around noon-5), beautiful weather, Flower and Garden happening at Epcot! Really is one of our favourite times to go (and I've been in March, April, and July as well.)

Yes but HOT. We did a mother's day trip last year and it was near empty on Monday and Tuesday and very moderate crowds that weekend.

Not sure why every mom doesn't want to be at Disney World??

We just returned from a May 1-8 trip and LOVE this time of year! We've gone in the Fall, Summer and early May a few times and it's by far our favorite time to go.

we usually go in early may, and I agree with HOT...I'm from the northeast, it's been ~60s and forecast for the next week in orlando is mid-90s. Too hot for me, so I give the afternoons a pass and go out around 8pm when it drops to 80 or so.

We just returned from a May 1-11 trip. It was lovely. Nice crowd levels, especially in the evenings when we prefer to go. We really enjoyed both After Hours events on 5/5 and 5/8.

The weather was warm but not too hot or humid. We had that ginormous and wild storm on Monday evening (5/02) and had to basically swim/wade our way across Magic Kingdom ;) But even that was fine and kind of fun in a way. If we go again in early May, we'll be sure to keep our ponchos in the backpack and not in our suitcases back at the resort!

Yep. We just went last week. As others have said, reasonable crowds, weather that is not 100 degrees (typically). We had a few days of 92-93 which were a little hot but manageable for us. Some of the CMs said it was hot for that time of year. We also enjoyed having only 1 full day of rain and one storm go through. That was nicer than March last year where we had rain on several days. I don't know if that's typical or not. We also enjoyed not having to pack more than one jacket or long sleeved item (and we did actually need them - it was pretty cool on the mornings that didn't get to 90). It's a good time to go if you can. :thumbsup2

Early May is a great time to go. In fact it's probably my second favorite time to go...right after early December.

I did five days in early may 2014, weather was hot but not humid, no rain. Crowds were not bad. We squeezed in before the old SWW and Mother's Day. It was the first trip with FP+ so that was something to deal with but now that whole thing is old hat. I would go again for sure. We actually did a Mon-Sat trip so being all weekdays helped I'm sure.

We always, always go early or early mid May...before the 15th...and we love it. We return during those weeks every year. It's hot, but that is expected. Crowds are manageable (for Disney!).

Beginning of May is a GREAT time. It's between Easter/Spring Break and the end of school, so crowds are much lighter than usual.

Also, it can get hot, but usually not humid. Not a lot of rain, either.

Early May is my favorite time to go. It can get hot, but not as bad as summer. Crowds are average to low average. Flower and Garden Festival is going on. It's a great time to visit.

Love early May! :thumbsup2
At this point it's too close to end of the school year to pull kids out of school so I think that impacts the crowds.

We did the first week of May when DD was in preschool. The crowds were low, but the temperature was in the low 90s. It is still cooler than summer and the crowds were great. EPCOT Flower and Garden was fun too.

It's all relative, but I imagine it is a lot better than say going in early July. :)
