We're heading to the world at the end of 2016, and this will be our first time to stay as a family at the Wilderness Lodge. We've eaten at California Grill several times, though since we're staying at the WL, we thought that we might try Artist Point instead. Any thoughts good or bad?

We've had several good meals there over the years. I'm not a food critic, but I've enjoyed my meals at Artist Point just as much as at CG, and I must say it's a lot quieter there too! In fact, AP is on the list for our October trip....

Artist Point is wonderful! Great food, friendly service, and a beautiful serene setting. The scallops and berry cobbler in particular are excellent. It is on the quieter side, so depending on the ages of your family might not be the most kid-friendly. I would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed Artist Point, especially when staying at WL its a great place to go after a long day in a park. We've only been once, but service was top notch, food delicious, and while the atmosphere could use some work the quietness was appreciated. We did have our then 3 year old with us and it was very kid friendly. And as Belle suggested be sure to get the cobbler. It's amazing.

For us it wasnt. It was one of the worst signature dining meals we've had.

I am a big fan of Wilderness Lodge generally and Artist Point specifically. Artist point has a really nice vibe of rustic upscale. My wife had the cedar plank salmon and really enjoyed it. I usually always get the bison steak. Have never been disappointed. Territory lounge is not bad either!

Just ate there! Its quiet. But we like that. I would probably choose to eat there the first night if I were you.

We've eaten at Artist Point 3 times over the years and all our experiences were positive.

the smokey Portobello (sp) soup makes it worth going alone...(although you can also get this at territory lounge)

Artist Point instead. Any thoughts good or bad?

NOTE1: Artist Point has lately made several changes to revive the old quality of the food
and service, and regained the reputation of the past. It has now replaced Monsieur Paul on
our TS list, and we only eat at five of them. If you eat there, get a window table. The view
of courtyard and lake are romantic at sunset and after dark. In June-2015, Michael Gonsalves
was appointed head chef at Artist Point. With his new menu ideas, it looks like AP is returning
to its previous stellar reputation. We DID enjoy the new selections and food prep. It is
quickly becoming (possibly) the best Disney-Owned TS on property, next to V&A.
.
NOTE2: For a heavenly treat, do the highly prized Copper River Salmon which is available only
during mid May to early-June, with a side of Mushroom Soup. For dessert, we used to LOVE the
AP Cobbler, but since the size and recipe change, it is not on our radar.

I would highly recommend Artist Point to anyone. Excellent Food, Quality Service, Warm Atmosphere, etc.. The only con I could possibly foresee is if you have any picky eaters in the family. I think one needs to go in with a tad bit more of an open minded palette. That being said, it's one of my favorite restaurants on property.

We ate there this past June and had a wonderful meal. Great food and service. Would recommend.

We love AP. Its food is as good as CG (or better) without the distraction of quite as many unruly children waiting for fireworks.

We've been twice and both times were wonderful! If it weren't inconvenient for us (usually staying at Epcot resorts) we'd dine there every trip.

Yes! It's a must do for us. Great food, great atmosphere. It's a perfect break from the craziness of the MK. I love taking a boat ride over there, relaxing ad decompressing before going back to MK. Our kids are little, and it's one of their favorites. I've never felt out of place with them there (they've ranged in age from 1 to 8 on our trips.) We typically do early reservations since we'll have 3 little ones with us. Definitely book it- well worth it!

We didn't enjoy our meal there years ago and, despite staying at WL many times, didn't go back. But we did this last trip (May), and it was one of our best meals. I enjoyed the salad quite a lot, and the entrees were very good. We'll be going back on our trip in April for sure.
