Is Ariel's Grotto worth the money?

Thinking of booking Ariel's Grotto but want to make sure its worth the $$. Any other princess dinners like this that are better?

well with the new menu it might be but i would do breakfast if nothing on the new menu looks good.

It is pricey, however, we go so we don't have to wait in that horrible, long, non-moving line at Princess Fantasy Faire. My DD just HAS to see the princesses, so about every other trip we make a point to dine at Ariel's.

Like Jade said, this time we are going for breakfast vs. lunch/dinner, as we were not impressed with the menu much. However, I did read recently they are changing the menu this week I think.

So for our family, totally worth it.

Unfortunately for us (family of 3) we did not like it and was not impressed with there breakfast My daughter loved it but she loves all the character meals we've been to.

It was worth it for us (we went last year; I did not know they were changing the menu). My DD is princess obsessed and so it was better than waiting in the line at PFF. She got to talk to each princess, get pictures, autographs, etc....it wasn't rushed and we enjoyed ourselves. Worth it for us, we'll be doing it again on our next trip!

We've been there three times. Dinner or lunch for all three. We were a bit disappointed in the food the last time we were there. But, overall, I'd still say it was worth it. DD loves it, and that's what we go for. The character interaction has typically been great for us. Lots of princesses.

We have been there twice for lunch. We found the food to be very average, but the brief character interaction and CMs to be great.

The new menu came out premiered yesterday. To me, it sounds like they are moving towards the two princess meals at WDW. For Cindy's Castle, they bring a tray of cold appetizers- cheese, fruit, meat skewers. At Alkershus at Epcot, they bring a tray with a sample of each dessert offered. WE liked both of those touches. We would like that at Ariel's too since that soup they serve is pretty yuk. Can't wait to see the new menu!

We went in May 08 and we thought it was worth the money. We got to see Ariel all dressed up and 4 other princesses. It beat waiting in line for 2 hours at PFF. DH even said this was one character meal he would do again in a heartbeat. I think it's worth a try for sure!!

We went last week. Since I have two daughters, 7 & 5 this was the biggie for us. The food was mediocre at best but ,as stated above, seeing the princesses was totally worth it. We met Ariel, Snow White, Aurora, Belle, and Cinderella. We also had a CM that was announcing the princesses spend quite a bit of time at our table. He was really fun. Since we saw the princesses on our list we didn't have to wait in the PFF line. BTW it was the longest line in the park the entire time we were there. Most rides we were able to walk on but the PFF always was at least 1 hour! We did go in to the craft and show area and spent about 1 hour and enjoyed that time.

Well, we got to see the princesses, but we were unlucky I think in that we didn't have the best atmosphere as the people at the table next to us were pretty much heckling the princesses and being quite mean to them(I don't know why they would pay to go if that was how the were going to carry on!)and after we were seated it took well over an hour before anyone took our order by which time we had 20 minutes to eat and get to our seating reservations for the electrical parade. The staff worked to make sure we made the reservation, but it meant we didn't enjoy the food at either the restaurant or the dessert box during the parade. Seems our waitress went on a break just as we were seated or something and we got forgotten. I don't know whether it woud be worth it or not on a normal visit, but ours was less than enjoyable. The staff urged us to come back and try again, but I couldn't bring myself to. The kids weren't keen on doing it again either. It was disappointing for us, but I think that we were the exception rather than the rule. It's probably a good experience when everything runs right.
