Is anyone worried about TS Fabian???

I am a Weather Channel watcher, and they are saying right now it could hit the East Coast by late next week - which is ofcourse when we leave for Florida.

Is anyone else worried, or is it too early to really tell the track it will take?

Man.....I was really hoping we could dodge the Tropical Storms this year!!

I hadn't heard about it, so now I'm worried, lol. But, as my husband always tells me. Does worrying about it make it go away??? No, it just makes me miserable. So, I will try not to think about it, and pack the ponchos. WDW has only been shut down once due to a hurricane, but the chances of it closing altogether are slight. Try not to worry, and have fun.

It's SO hard for them to tell what a hurricane's going to do when it's still so far out...

And we very rarely get hit by hurricanes in Florida, despite what you'd think. They seem to either go underneath us to the Gulf of Mexico, or turn north and hit the Carolinas...

I've been living in south/central Florida for 20+ years and have only seen one hurricane that was basically down to a TS by the time it hit.

We leave next Thursday and only have Thurs and Friday in the parks. Honestly, I'm more concerned about the weather and driving to WDW then down to Palm Beach Saturday than I am about touring the parks in the rain.

But, I have a feeling (hopefully true) that this one will curve north before it hits Florida.

I have to agree with thessaly. Our local TV station said that TS Fabian is "something to keep and eye on; but it is much too early to tell what it will do yet". I hate to say it; but the Weather Channel just seems to panic people.

You could also try this site. It is a local Orlando TV station and should have much better info than TWC.

I've lived in Central Florida my entire life. When we have a hurricane that does hit Florida, we take the warnings very seriously. However, once a hurricane makes it to the WDW area, it has weakend significantly. There will still be very strong wind (sometimes tornadoes) and a lot of rain but it's certainly not something you should let ruin your vacation. Just remember, it rains every afternoon and Florida thunderstorms are sometimes really nasty. Keep an eye on the local weather stations while you are here. They should keep your mind at ease so you can enjoy yourself.

Hey Squiggle,

I thought that was channel 7's job to make us crazy down here in S.FL.............................LOL I love there DANGER IN THE TROPIC'S. Don't get me wrong I've lived in Fl since 1963 and have been thur many of hurricanes but don't stir up trouble until your sure its coming here.

We leave tues for VB so I have watching the storm closely last few days. However in checking this morning seems like the predicted track is heading north out to sea so i feel a little better. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

When we went last September, Eduardo began making it's way away from the Florida coast the day I left. Then it moved away. Then a few days in, it headed back for Florida.

Other than the typical afternoon showers, not a thing.
