Is anyone scared about Easter Sunday coming up?

I am not sure about how to handle Easter Sunday. We are invited to an annual Easter Brunch at my Aunt's house. She is making Creamed Chipped Beef just for me. There will also be an Egg Dish, French Toast, Shrimp & Fresh Fruit. Not to mention - CANDY EVERYWHERE! Does anyone just plan on cheating that day? I will have completed 5 weeks of Oprah's boot camp at that point - with no cheating, not even a bite....yet. I don't know what to do - I am torn. I'm thinking of double workouts Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday....then, just enjoy myself on Sunday at the brunch. Am I selling myself short? UGH - anyone else battling this one?

This is always a tough one for me. We are going to an all-you-can-eat brunch with my extended family. My usual strategy is to eat the first plate of food on plan - no excuses. Then, if I want some off-plan treats, at least I'm not ravenously hungry. Often I'll only have a bite or two of a dessert (or two :p ) and that's enough of a splurge for me.

If you won't be eating first thing when you get there, don't go hungry! All that candy sitting around is irresistable when you're starving. Eat a snack before you go that will hold you over until the main meal is served.

I hope some others will post with their strategies! I can use all the help I can get! :teeth:

Best wishes!

I usually have to "talk" to myself ahead of time and make the decision of what I will and won't eat. For example, before Halloween I tell myself that I will not eat a single piece of the kid's candy.... not a single one, period. Or I will tell myself that I can have one Reese's pbc and that is all, nothing more. If I make up my mind ahead of time, it usually helps. It is hard to make the decision when I am physically facing the food.

As a matter of fact, I need to decide today what I will be eating over the weekend. I have two Easter dinners every year and it is tough! (We celebrate Saturday with my family and Sunday with DH's family) By the time I've gotten to Sunday I usually have no willpower left. But I've already decided that I WILL indulge in my cousin's onion casserole on Saturday.... I love it and we only have it on Thanksgiving and Easter... it is a real treat for me. I'd rather have that than cake for dessert. But I will not be having potatoes or bread. Ham, onion casserole, a bit of sweet potato, green vegetable and salad will be it for Saturday. Sunday will be a bit tougher. DH's Swedish family really know how to put on a buffet! Good luck to you! ..............P

Ususally Easter isn't too bad for me but this year it will be tough! We are having Italian for dinner which includes nice fresh Italian bread, raviolis, cheese, etc. and it's my birthday. I'm just going to do my best and try to keep in mind that I want to lose weight more than I will want those fattening foods that day. I'm also going to try to make time to get exercise in the next few days.

Good luck!
