Is anyone NOT going out on Black Friday?

I've never gone out on BF. This year the online deals were more plentiful anyway and I got lots of shopping done. I'd signed up for the Kids Club at Barnes and Noble (plus got my 4% ebates rebate) about a week ago and got a buy one, get one 1/2 off deal on the two Playmobil sets I wanted for my dgs with no tax and free shipping, plus I had a coupon for another 30% off. Yesterday I got things from Amazon, Gap, and American Eagle Outfitters. Today I made one last online purchase from Kohls with the help of a free shipping and 20% off code. Now I await Cyber Monday for the last few things I need. I like to visit our nicer mall once during the season for fun but never to do my major shopping. Every year the local news shows photos of the lines and crowds and I'm glad I'm not there! I'm glad some people enjoy it though as it seems almost like a competitive sport, lol.---Kathy

Not me no need not much Christmas shopping done here. My DD's all get AAA+. The DD's are buying what they want the gbabies to have an I paying for it.

So glad I found this thread! :worship:

I really couldn't find anything in the ads that screamed at me this year. Frankly I felt a little weird not being more excited :lmao:

I went to TRU last week for all of DS 4's things. The BF deals I saw were only about $5-$10 more per item on his list... maybe $50 savings total? Not worth the hassle this year for me, personally.

Our other kids are teens. They want clothes and money. Gift cards are rarely discounted and I always watch for sales and discounts on clothing - bought some stuff for DD at Aero for 50% off earlier this week. Just didn't feel the urge to brave the mall on BF this year (and will probably buy most of what the kids want online now).

Not sure if this counts. We go up to RI to visit the extended family every year for Thanksgiving. The day after, the ladies in the family go out to craft shows while the men get steamers and go back to my uncle's house for beer and whatever sport happens to be on. Then we all meet up for a dinner at a local pizza place before my family does the long drive back the next day. The men also used to also babysit the kids but we've since grown up and I'm now out with the other crafters.

So I shop on BF, but not in the traditional sense. I have to say I'm pretty happy with how mine goes. And since I'm 6 states away from home on BF every year it would really take something amazing for me to go to an unfamiliar store and deal with getting the item back home.
