Is anyone else stuck in a WDW resort-rut?

Look at my signature and see how many resorts I stay at over each three week trip!!

I am stuck in a number of huge ruts !!!

But I love it :cheer2:  :cheer2:

I know the feeling myself as you can see from my history but you should give yourself a change and experience different places.

What is it about POR - we can't let it go.
Of all the mods...it's the BEST! IMHO.... ;) We have never stayed value, but we have always enjoyed the POR (Oak Manor). There's just "something" about this place...which holds a special place in our heart. We have not been back for years, as we stay Deluxe now. But, we always "visit" POR during each stay at WDW...and "walk" around the grounds...just reminiscing of days gone by. :lovestruc It's truly a "special" resort. :cloud9:

Absopositively - We use to try different resorts, but the last few we have stuck with the BC. In fact, our May trip was scheduled for the BC. I told our TA to change it to the Boardwalk. It is killing me to change, but I never will know how the other resorts are if I don't try them.

Definitely resort hop, it's good to get a feel for all of them. I know those special feelings you have for a certain resort but I was the same way. Each resort is different and they are all great. But it also gives you something extra to look forward to and to see how each resort is and how they do things, etc.

We feel this way about the CSR!!!!!!! We have tried almost all the resorts, and keep coming back to the Coronado. It is so beautiful and peaceful (even with the convention center). We were there this past Nov. for our 8th time & took by brother and his family for their 1st Disney trip ever. They also fell in love with it.
Now our next trip will be March 28th- April 4th and we are going to try POR again. We were there a couple of years ago when the FQ was closed down and the Riverside was only half open, including the food court. We found the rooms to be quite run down and kind of moldy smelling.

If they'd sell me a room at WL (and I could afford it) I'd move in tomorrow. We've stayed at the old Dixie Landings and Port Orleans, CBR, Dolphin and Boardwalk over the years but we keep returning to "our" hotel. Now we don't discuss it. If we're booking it's at WL.

We're victims of resort rut. My DH & I tend to go through phases...for awhile we stayed at CBR, then CSR, then YC/BC, now we are hooked on the Poly. Once when we were in the YC/BC phase, we tried to be different so we booked the Grand. Left after one night to return to our then favorite, YC/BC. Can you believe it? Left the Grand...wow! Now, our favorite is the Poly. However, over Thanksgiving we decided to take a long weekend trip...sort of spur of the moment. Couldn't get a decent rate at the Poly but the Swan had a good deal. So we took it. We were afraid we would miss the Poly and be miserable but that wasn't the case! We loved the Swan and being at the Epcot Resort area again. However, the Poly stilll leads as our favorite.

Right now we don't have this year's trip planned, we're talking about September. My husband mentioned that he might want to try the CR tower. Stayed in the wing once. I'm interested in maybe renting points at the Beach Club Villas. Or, if S/D has a good rate, we would definitely stay there again.

I know what you mean, it's hard to not stay at your favorite. It makes you afraid you'll miss it too much. So many resorts, so little time.

What we need are more vacations.

Amen to everything everyone has said.

I am that way with OKW... :goodvibes

If we don't stay there at least one time during the trip it just does not feel the same.

And if you check the sig you'll see that on some trips its shared but most of all its the main attraction.

The trips in which we did not stay at OKW at all were trips in which we had a 'spur of the moment' or 'surprise trip' that we called like a week before we left and just asked if there were any available rooms at *insert resort* and the DVC would call us and let us know!!! They are always so friendly.

Boardwalk is a close 2nd to making it feel like a REAL disney vacation for us :cloud9: Its jsut the atmosphere and being able to walk to EPCOT that we looove.

And a new addition to our must see list is now Port Orleans Riverside. I love the little swamps and the mach Plantations. Very cool to just take a little stroll through with the BF or DH

I <3 DVC
