Is anyone else getting increasingly frustrated with September??

First Splash down; then Mission Space and Hall of Presidents refurb extended; now Ellen's and Great Movie Ride closing in August; River of Light an every other day event; no extension of Music of Pixar announced yet. I mean come on now :sad2:

I haven't kept up with the closures, I did see that The Great Movie Ride was closing so I was bummed about that. I liked Ellen's Adventure and wanted to see that one more time too. I guess it will be another year I don't get to ride Space Mountain. It seems every time I go, no matter what month it's closed. I run across this every time we go though, something is always down no matter what month you go in.

Yes, there always seems to be at least one big ride down but DHS already has so much closed! My dates are at end of Sept so I have some hope Mission Space will be up and running. Disappointed to miss one last Ellen show...stupid Judy...and am definitely going to miss Splash. I get that is a "slow time" so you risk more maintenance, but it does seem like there is a lot closed for refurb. Guess I will comfort myself by enjoying Haunted Mansion and the new Frozen thing as both those were closed at my last visit...

I wonder how many guests actually take in all of those attractions? The only thing on your list that I'm going to miss is Splash. The rest are skippable.

It is a bummer for those who like all of the above, but any time I've been in Hop it is maybe a third full. And that is probably over-estimating the crowd. I don't think many will miss it. And the movie in Ellen's Universe of Energy (or whatever the proper name is) is very very outdated. That ride has been begging for a change for a long time.

Nope, we weren't planning on doing any of these so we are unaffected! Bummer for anyone who was planning on them though.

I saw that 8/13 is the last date for the Great Movie Ride, but I didn't see the date for Ellen's Energy Adventure. Are we sure it will be done before September?

I wish I could have seen both one last time before they're gone. At least I got to see the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes last October.

The Splash refurb hit us hard when it was first announced. I was hoping to see Hall of Presidents, but it's mild disappointment. We were on the fence about Mission:Space, and I worked plans around the River of Light schedule. I'm really sad about Ellen and GMR, but we'll get over that, too. I knew that both were rumored to be closing, but nothing that I saw led me to believe that I wouldn't get one more ride this trip.

I don't know, at least because I didn't go in 2016 I'll have plenty of new stuff to see!

I'm going on a 9 day trip beginning Labor Day weekend. The Splash closure timing still makes no sense to me. To close 4 days before the Labor Day holiday weekend just seems stupid. I could somewhat understand closing it after that weekend if they have to schedule the refurb for before January, but to be closed that weekend comes across as very poor planning. It's also a favorite so yeah, I'm pretty annoyed with this closure. Was hoping to have GMR and Ellen for long rides in AC but guess that won't happen. Really surprised they are closing GMR before Toy Story Land is ready. Frustrated with the timing of this closure. Ellen I expected to be closed already, and there's still plenty to keep me occupied in Epcot, so I'm ok with this closure. Mildly annoyed that Mission Space reopening is delayed. HoP, well don't really care one way or the other about this one. I would rather get my AC break in CoP or the Tiki Room anyway.

I'm with you. They're messing up my FP+ schedule and they're shutting down too many things at once. Yes, September is "slow" but it's not that slow and certainly not as slow as it used to be. As for Ellen's Energy, I haven't heard any definitive date on it's closing yet. Please at least let that be open. Sheeeesh.

Disappointed as I am coming from Australia and this my first visit in 16 years and all these closures and do not know if I will return again. My biggest disappointment is the great movie ride. I liked that ride and I cannot understand why they are closing in sept. I thought it would keep going until early next year. Not too worried about splash as did that last time and big thunder mountain was closed. Mission space was alright but nothing too special, gives me more time looking at food and wine now.

The MDE app has a note at the bottom of the attraction's page that says it it closing Aug 13.

Ellen's closes Aug 13 as well. I'm definitely bummed about it and GMR. It's our 3 yr old's first WDW trip. Mission & Splash don't completely bum me out because there's always next time.

It can definitely be frustrating. Last September (2016) when my daughter and I went, Big Thunder Mountain, It's A Small World, and Dinosaur were closed. I think one other ride was as well but I could be wrong. It always surprises me a bit when they close multiple headliners at once.

I am wondering if Space Mountain will be down for our trip next September. It seems like each year, one of the mountains is down and it could be Space's turn next.

I hear you, coming from NZ for a one and done, so I will never get to ride any of them, sob, sob.

I'm bummed about HoP, since we hadn't been in for a few years.

And I just started riding splash again, so I will miss that one.

My husband doesn't do Space, it makes him seasick. So we won't miss it. But we enjoy the GMR.

My girlfriend and I are going two weeks later, and she hasn't been in about 10 years. So for that trip, I am not happy about any of it being closed.

I get that stuff needs updated. But come on. It doesn't all have to be done in September.

I just hope they give plenty of notice as that would be a trip breaker for me (see my username, lol)

Haha yes, I get the impression you may be slightly fond of the ride :)

If they are going to refurb it, I hope they give us plenty of notice as well. My daughter rode it for the first time last year (thanks to a little bribery at first lol) and she loved it so much we rode it 5 more times. So she would be disappointed but it is better to know it advance.
