I you decide to participate (it is totally optional and IS fun) and do not want to make your own (I don't know how crafty you are) I highly recomend buying one from Grady's Mommy on ebay. She is so nice (I've sailed with her too) and does great work

It is a DIS thing--so start posting here (lots of Brits do) and let Roniboboni know to add you to the roll call and dizmomof2 know to add you to the fish extender exchange. If we get lots of cabins we will probably break into smaller groups of 10 or so cabins per group so no one has too much in their luggage.

Okay Carol--once you have 10 posts you will be able to send PMs. When that happens PM dizmomof2 so she can add you to the list (and also Roniboboni to be added to the roll call) IF they do not notice your posts and jsut add you anyway; they're good like that

I hope we don't break down into smaller groups. We already have 35 FE Gifts ready to go. When we did our Panama Canal Cruise we had 97 rooms participating. That was tons of fun each time you came back to your room.

Wow--you have really been busy I still haven't decided for sure what I am even doing

I've done it both ways--but I prefer to do everyone AND keep gifts really small.

The last cruise we did with everyone, we literally had a medium sized rollign duffle full of stuff at teh end of a week. We could not possibly get all of that home. We ended up keeping all of the homemade things and asking the kids club staff if they had any use for the tons of kid's card games, pencils, stickers, coloring books etc (mostly Disney themed). They were happy to get the trinkets (or at least pretended to be) but I felt so bad not keep everything that everyone went to so much trouble to bring and buy.

Our first cruise after we discovered the DIS also had tones of people (and most people gave to the entire roll call whether you had a FE or not--it was nothing mandatory just a give if you want think which I LOVED) most items were very small (custom pencils or pens, chocolate bars, bookmarks) and no goodie bags just individual items. Over 14 days we had stuff in out FE pretty much every time we came back to the room, but at the end it was still manageable to get it home.

Welcome. We are at the AC Diplomatic but we purchased the Disney transport to the port.

@Hadley - What a small world we live in. I hope you enjoyed Rochester over the New Year. I am assuming we had tons of snow. I can't remember back that long. We are all so tired of the rain this spring.

No snow in Rocheester when I was there. I hit right in between storms. We missed all o the snow in New Hampshire too and only got one small storm in Boulder (and a warm Christmas)--meanwhile Heidelberg was getting more snow then they ever get and we missed it. We love snow and were really quite unnhappy to have managed to miss it all this year

ABout the FE list--I *think* that dizmomof2 is keeping the "official" list and will email out room numbers and the like when we get close but that Roni adds the updates of names to the website when she gets a chance--but I might well be wrong about that (I am wrong about lots of things).

Wow--everyone is SO on the ball. Being that we are driving to port (well 4 of us, David, me and my in laws who will not see much of David the week before while he works--the kids get to fly since the car only seats 4) I can bring home all kinds of goodies if need be--but I know it is a concern for others I am generally of the more the merrier ilk but thought there had been previous talk about splitting into groups. I like not splitting becuase I feel like I have gotten to know certain people and I would be sad if they were not in my group (and probably just take things for them anyway).

My only other experience of an FE will be on our Med cruise next week, and there we have done it based upon family groups (we for example are split over 2 connecting cabins but we are one party for FE purposes) which I think works well. We can then choose to get something for the group, for an individual, or split it between different individuals in that group. It's certainly easier to bring 20 or so gifts rather than 90 .

Hi, another Yorkshire family! We are from Hull on the east coast. Where are you from? We are so looking forward to get involved with FE but also don't want to rock the boat (pun intended). We will gladly buy/make as many FE gifts as needed and will just fit in with whatever happens. We want to enjoy every aspect of Disney Cruising and meeting other like minded people. We have 2 cabins but will only be using one for FE purposes (3 kids, DS 8, DD 6 and DS 3).

How many people are on the list? Do you just take it from the Aug27 website (brilliant by the way). We are starting to make things this weekend.

Welcome to all the new cruisers. I will put in a push for your children to look at the kids/teens thread for our cruise. My boys think it is fun to chat to the other kids.

I have a question about the FE. When do we "cut off" so we know final numbers? Not trying to rush a cut off, just trying to plan my purchasing/crafting timeframe.

We are only booking one DCL excursion but I am getting annxios about it being booked out before we can book (another three weeks!). If anyone that has earlier booking privilages is playing on the DCL website, is it possible to check whether there is still availabilty for the the Rome "Vatican City, the Coliseum and Catacombs" excusion?
