Is Any One out there Happy that IASW is closed?

Not sorry it is closed.happy it is finally being rehabbed. It was in dire need of it. When i rode it in March (DH can no longer be conned into it) it was in terrible shape.

My husband and boys were happy that IASW was closed during our recent trip (husband says the song drives him to insanity and both boys say it is embarassing for anyone over age 5 to go on the ride). My daughter and I were sad we missed it but glad it was getting the rehab it needed. I first went on the ride at the 1964 Worlds Fair in New York so it, as well as the Hall of Presidents and COP, are very dear to my heart!

I'm not happy that it's closed, because it's a Disney tradition for us. I wish they could do rehab work a little at a time during the night so it wouldn't have to close during park hours.

I am glad it is getting a make-over, it has been long overdue. Although it is tradition to ride it each trip, I will be fine not doing it for one trip. However our 3yo DD will be sooooo sad!!!! It is her favorite! We are not going until Feb. 2005 but from what I have read it will still be closed then.

It is a tradition with our family as well. It always felt so nice to sit down and relax for a few minutes and feel a nice cool breeze as we went through the ride. :(

While my DW and DD would certainly disagree with me, if it never reopens, that's OK with me

:hyper:

Am I happy it's closed....YES!!!!!!!!! ::yes:: Only because it does need the refurb. I'd rather not do the ride everytime we visit, but my DH really enjoys it as he really likes the dolls from all the different countries. I can do without the song in my head all day, but for DH coming to Disney for me, I'll tolerate it.
We don't visit again til 2006, so I can't wait to see how much better it looks. :hyper:

YES, I AM GLAD.. MY DW TORTURED ME, DS 8 AND DS 4 TO GO ON MORE THAN ONCE LAST YEAR. SHE WAS KIND OF OUTNUMBERED ON THAT REQUEST. IM GLAD I DONT HAVE TO HEAR THE BOYS WHINE THIS YEAR WHEN MOM FORCED US ALL TO GO AGAIN.. YIPEE MORE TIME FOR SPLASH/THUNDER MTN..

We love IASW, it is always the first ride in MK we go on, and always go 3-4 times during our time there, We will miss it being closed.

Remy(DD5) is glad it is closed because for some strange reason she is afraid of that ride. I have no idea why, but we took her to WDW for her third birthday and she cried during IASW and thought the dolls were scary??!!!! She absolutely LOVED Haunted Mansion and POC though.

DH is very happy it is going to be closed when we are there. It is his least favorite ride. The singing kids drive him nuts. :teeth:

 Shame on you;) I know it makes some people:crazy: I like it and think it will be better when it reopens:earsboy:

Nice and shady place to stop and rest while everyone and their mother rushes by you in Fantasyland. :)

i am also glad that IASW is getting a facelift. i remember first going on it at the Worlds Fair and every trip to WDW since i enjoyed riding it once. last trip myself and DSons really didnt want to go on it but mom overuled us by pointing out that riding IASW should be a ride that is a part of a family tradition when at WDW.

well when we went on it in 2002 i was so shocked and saddened to see how this ride needed some help fast.

we will miss it but will look foward to seeing the new and improved IASW next time we visit

Wow, that must have been an amazing experience. It must be neat to be apart of Disney history like that. I've read so much about the 1964 Worlds Fair because of my addiction to Disney and always thought it must have been a really cool place to tour.
