One item on the "Disneyland Resort Refurbishments Update" that few have noticed is "Now - 2013 Aladdin's Oasis will be closed".

It's barely used now - at most a few times a day for meet 'n greets, and certainly doesn't need a lengthy "refurbishment", so ...

I hope they do something with that area. I loved the Tahitian dinner show there, I never saw the Aladdin show. I think if they brought in a new show it would be great!

I have no idea what they mean by that...that's been reported on the official refurb list for quite a while, including during times when the Oasis was OPEN to guests for seating and restrooms. No, the Oasis isn't doing anything exciting, just hosting occasional meet-and-greets, but it's been reported as "closed" at times when it was more open than it was in 2011. :confused3

Maybe Disney has plans to do something neat with the space for 2013? Here's hoping!

I remember years ago Disney had a character lunch and dinner at Oasis. Very good but short lived.

LOVED the Tahitian show!! The food was great and the atmosphere lots of fun. My kids really enjoyed the character show, too. I wish they'd bring it back, though it seems to me I heard that they really couldn't do it. Can't remember why, though--not enough seating capacity or the kitchen isn't updated or something. It probably doesn't meet current standards for something-or-other.

A Disneyland podcast is re-staging the Tahitian Terrace show for one night:

Our most recent trip to Disneyland a few weeks ago was during a raging heatwave, and Aladdin's Oasis was a great, quiet spot to grab a seat out of the sun. Tons of tables in the shade, and even during the character meet and greets it's pretty quiet.
