Is a week too long at VB?

I am so excited to be going to VB, but wonder if we will be wishing we'd stayed at AKL a few days longer.

It seems that VB is marketed most as a place to go for a few days to unwind from the "world". In fact, a DVC CM said I would probably be bored with more than a couple of days there. It sounds pretty relaxing to me, though. I plan to read a lot of books.

How long do most people stay at VB? How long is too long? What are the must do's?

Every 2 or 3 day trip we've had to Vero, we wished we could have stayed longer. I really don't think a week is too long.

The thought of spending a week relaxing and reading books sounds wonderful. Can I come? :D

Never!! A week at VB sounds delightful!!

Enjoy!!

Well, it depends on preferences (and weather). If you get rainy or cold days a week may get long. If you've got beautiful sunshine you could stay a month. It's also what you like to do. If you enjoy lounging, reading, walking the beach, etc., etc. it's no problem. If you have a car and enjoy the Florida area that can make a longer trip enjoyable as well (maybe golf a few days). I love to take day trips and/or shopping trips some days and hang out at the resort on other days. The longest I've been is 3 nights but I could easily do more. The only thing I would like is something more for adults to do in the evenings. I'm not even sure what to suggest they add, it's just that some boredom does creep in at night.

I agree with Pamokw. I really depends what you and your family likes to do. We stayed for a week in VB at easter a few years back when DS#1 was 6 and DS#2 was 1. We even extended our trip by a day that visit. We called the front desk the morning of checkout and asked if we could stay another night. We paid cash and satyed the extra day. A family with older ones were having a tough time keeping them entertained at times. The local saying is that everyone in VB is either newly wed or nearly dead. I stayed again just this past Jan with some friends on a golfing trip. We played 2 rounds a day for 6 days and never played the same course twice. Six days seemed a little short then also. The only thing that gets a little old is eating dinner. You will quickly have explored all there is in their dinning facilities and with small children going out on the town seems to be more hassle then its worth at times. Additionally when we stayed at easter that one year if you did not have dinner ressies by 2:00 or 3:00 you were not going to get in that night. When we went in Jan this was not an issue. I would go to VB any time of the year!!!

Not for me! We keep extending out vacations at VB each time we go. We started with a two night stay, we are now up to six nights and it STILL isn't long enough. It does depend on what you like, though. For longer visits I would certainly consider a one bedroom or larger. The extra room and kitchen come in handy, and the hot tub is a great way to spend some time on a cold rainy day.

when I am on vacation. If the castmember meant that do you want more days at WDW then that is a different discussion. How could one be board relaxing with the ocean at their back door on vacation? We have been doing Daytona Beach vacations in the summer for 35 years off and on and leaving is the worst part.

I'm so glad I made these arrangements! You have made my vacation sound even better to me than I thought it sounded. We will spend six nights at the AKL, then six at VB. I need to escape, and have to admit that I often get frazzled by the craziness of WDW. I am not one of the guests who plans every minute. I don't even like to make PS, but did make a couple this time.

Thanks all.
