Is a birth certificate needed?

We will be taking my daughter (who will be a month shy of 3) to Disney in 2010. Will we need to take her birth certificate to prove that she's under 3 years old? She's very tall for her age. Thank you.

Here's what I've been told: sometimes a cast member will ask the child how old they are (in a friendly, conversational way). In all our trips to WDW (4 before ds was three), no one has ever done this to my ds, and I've never really seen a CM engage a child in conversation like this, so I can't really say how often it happens. Maybe it only happens when the gate isn't totally swamped with guests trying to enter the parks?

One time we were at Disneyland entering the park through the (less busy) Grand Californian entrance, and a cast member did ask us how old ds was (he was a few weeks shy of three). He is also tall for his age, so just to be on the safe side, I had brought a copy of his BC and kept it in my bag. I offered to show it to the cm but she declined, so I'm not even sure why she asked. LOL Anyway, I doubt you'll have a problem with it but if it worries you then a regular photo copy of the b/c should be sufficient to quell any concerns over your childs age, should it come up.

we went one month before our youngest turned 3, so she would be free...no one asked, she was tall for her age. Of course DH was pushing her and he's
6'4".

I sincerely doubt you'd ever be asked for it, but I always travel with a copy of DD's birth certificate. I'm probably just paranoid, but I do like the fact that I can always provide some sort of proof that she's mine...although with the Terrible Two's on full display, there are days I might disavow that fact.
