Hi,

I'm going to Orlando in July. I want to spend 4 days at US/IOA and 5-6 at WDW. Is this too long to be solo? I've never taken that long of a trip before. Any tips/thoughts????

Not at all!!!:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 thanks for the reassurance...I'm probably just nervous :guilty:

you'll be fine!!! you're at Disney... there's no such thing as to much days with the Mouse... I am not sure about US/IOA... I know I was able to do both parks in 2 days... did a 3 night stay at US resort/ hotel... day of check in just chilled and enjoyed the pool, slept and in the morning did US, then the 2nd morning did IOA... if I was not lollygagging I could have done both parks in one day but took my time :)

I'm going to a convention at US so that's why I'll be there. It's four nights but not full days. Now on to planning all the fun activities for my solo adventure.

you'll need that time to recover from the HP convention:rotfl2:

If you don't want to do the parks each day, resort hopping WDW is so much fun as well!

I'm jealous...

resort hopping that sounds fun...hmmm decisions decisions

I was thinking about possibly not going to Disney parks just enjoying my resort but it's a long way to Florida and I don't wanna miss out :wizard::3dglasses

I spent 11 days ,10 nights at WDW last year. That was 2 days for each Park ,1/2 day at each of the Water Parks and a half day at DTD. On the other half day and my arrival day I just explored the Resorts

Even with 25 days over the past 3 years there are things I still have not done. Which is why I leave tomorrow for another 8day-7night stay at WDW! :wizard:

never......

i am doing 15 nights this year.
i stay at the motherland for 7 and then 8 at the darkside resort.

i am cutting back from 16 days this year.....

i have been doing solo trips to both resorts and parks since 2005.

at disney you won't be rushing as much.
you can take your time and park hop if you want.
you can do more table service meals and not be concerned of missing out on park time.

at universal you will have time to explore your hotel and the other 2.
can spend a day hopping from each resort's pool.

you can do more at city walk.

and you can take in all the shows at UO with out having to decide between A and B.

you'll have fun with 10 days on your trip.

WOW thanks for all the encouragement and tips everyone. I'm getting excited :goodvibes.

since you will be attending the leakcon, you'll be at royal pacific for most of the day.
i think you get the late night time period at HP after the park closes.

you really won't have much time to do the parks if you attend the leaky con events.

you'll cover parry hotter all right but try to take in other things in the parks.
hit Horror Make Up show at the studio side.
i just love that show......
if you stay onsite, not sure if it is that or offsite where you will be, use the hotel card to enter early and sit in the middle front row for that show.

i used to do 10 or 11 nights at disney then move to universal resorts for only a 4 night 5 day stay.

it turned out i didn't have enough park and hotel time at UO as i took in 4 nights of HHN in that same time period.

now i do less time at the motherland and do over a week at the darkside.

you are going to have the best of two worlds in one trip...
maybe the best of 3 worlds..if you count Leaky Conn

disney and universal w/ parry hotter/Leaky Conn

you are a lucky ducky....:yay:

Thanks  I can't wait...All do in my limited free time now is research and plan.

I spent 10 nights in January and still didn't get done all I wanted to.
Some of the great things about going solo is not feeling like you have to do something if you don't want to. There was a day that I didn't feel that great so I went back to the resort and had a nap. Total luxury :goodvibes
I had a great time in the mornings making up my mind what I wanted to do that day and had a great time getting "lost" or as lost as you can on Disney property. One day I went to have lunch at the Big River Grille. When I finished I went browsing the boardwalk. I decided I was finished and glanced over to see a Friendship boat pulling up to the dock so I jumped on intending to go back to Epcot. I realized after a few stops that it was going to DHS instead. I spoke with the captain and he said that it would eventually go back to Epcot so I sat back and enjoyed the scenery. pirate: One of my best memories!

So sit back and enjoy your solo trip!

WOW those are great memories! I can't wait...wish July would hurry up and get here. :thumbsup2

i always stay 9 nights no problems except the days go by fast and it's time to go home

Thank you for posting this. As my DD is heading to college in the fall  I am taking my first solo trip for 6 full days (travel days on either end) and I was wondering if I had booked a little too long.

Thanx for the reassurance!
:goodvibes
