Is 9:30 ridiculously late for an ADR?

Okay, I was able to secure an 8:20 so I cancelled the 9:30. I am going to check daily and see if something earlier comes up.

Thanks!

can that one be moved closer to when you arrive then your kids are still on west coast time?
I can normally get away with later ARDs in the begining of the trip but then as the days go on the kids atart adjusting to the time change

I've done 9:30p ressies with my 2 & 4 yr olds & everyone enjoyed themselves. It probably helps that our usual dinner time is 8/8:30 however.

Most of the time, my reservations are between 6-7. If I eat too late, my digestive tract does not do well. The last time we had a late reservation was at Le Cellier last summer and we were one of the last ones seated. By the time our food arrived, we were not as hungry and did not really enjoy it as much. There was so much food left over, we felt guilty.

We had a 9:10 reservation at teppan edo last year with my 2 and 5 year old grandkids and they were fine. Normal hours go out the window when we go to disney world.

If we are spending the evening in MK late we usually do a sit-down late lunch and then augment with snacks in the park. It is not our dietetic high point of the week, but it is darn fun and keeps us from playing reservation roulette.

A less formal approach you could take for an evening meal is to go to the Grand Floridian and get dinner at their counter service spot -- Gasparilla Grill and Games. It's kid-and-family oriented food with an arcade and you can eat at a table by the marina. It's relatively affordable and has unobstructed castle views. You can easily see Wishes from there or walk out to the boat launch for a better view. Plus - arcade! It's really a nice option for low pressure enjoyment.

So I switched my trip to May and was up until 2am last night booking ADR's. I really want to try Ohana for dinner. But the only time I could get was 9:30pm. I booked it, but am second guessing myself. I plan on us being at MK that evening then heading over for dinner. Wishes should be at 10pm so I was hoping we could see it from there.

Have I totally lost my mind booking a dinner that late with 2 kids (4&8)? I plan on checking every day for cancellations to see if I can get it earlier.

What would you book as an alternate? I am trying to avoid TS places with mac& cheese kids menus so I have been focusing more on family style and buffet.

I remember on a trip to California, we had a late dinner reservation. About 8:30 or 9. We were just all so quiet at that table, due to being tired. Not sure if it was just the time change for us or the fact that we had been at DL all day, but this was late for us. I would think for kids that age that may be late. Though I certainly don't know your kids. popcorn::

I sure hope this is the case with us, as well. Our DD is 3. I just got off the phone booking ADRs for the week of May 16-24 and only got 3 of the 5 I wanted. And one of the 3 is a 9pm Chef Mickey's ressie on the day of arrival. UGH!!!:scared1:So not what I wanted. However, I'll keep calling every day in hopes of getting an earlier time and like others have suggested, we could always arrive early and hope to get seated.

Ironically enough, the one ADR I thought would be hard to come by actually worked out the best. A 9:40 at Askerhaus for the Princess Breakfast on the day I wanted!:lovestruc Go figure!

I got Ohana for 5:10!! Thanks for the advice!!!

Way to go Andrea, good job:thumbsup2 FWIW--we've tried late dinner reservations like your 9:30pm one with an all adult party and we barely made it till dinner time(and then you head back to the room to crash on a very full stomach--yech).
