Is 7 hours enough time to explore DHS?

I am going on a trip in October and planned on doing DHS on a MNNSHP night. I planned on getting to DHS for rope drop at 9AM then having a 6:00PM ADR at Kona Cafe then shooting off to MNSSHP. I am staying at the Poly so I figured if I leave the park at 4PM I could be at my room by 5PM to get ready for dinner, go to my ADR then shoot straight to MNSSHP. I was hoping 7 hours in DHS would be enough but I know the major rides there have extremely long waits. Do you think I will have enough time to do RR, TOT, and TSM amongst other smaller attractions? I have never been there in October so I dont know if the lines will be manageable.

You should have plenty of time at DHS but I would rethink a 6pm Kona ADR on a party night. You may have a wait for your table at Kona and then you wouldn't be hitting the party until 7:30 or 8pm, if dinner runs long.

You know you can get into the park at 4pm with your party ticket, right?

There is only 2 of us so Im thinking dinner should be somewhat fast. My ADR 180 date is Tuesday so I have time to rethink it. I might just make it for 5:30 so at least Im in the park by 7:30.

Well, that will work too but there are special effects going on to start the party at 7pm. I just hate to see you miss the beginning of the party!

Of course, it shouldn't really matter to me- I won't be there, after all. ;)

Kona is notorious for being slow. You might get a server who can accomodate you, but I would not plan on it not being a "quick" dinner. I would definitely try for 5:00-5:30. If you want to do the character greet with the seven dwarves at the party, the line starts forming about 6pm and it LONNNGGG all night. If you are willing to skip that then it may not matter to you.

As for crowds in HS, is it a Fantasmic Day? If Fantasmic is showing it will be more crowded, otherwise you should easily be able to do TSMM, TOT and RNR all before lunch. Go straight to TSMM and ride, then go to RNR and get a fastpass and ride TOT, then go back to RNR when your fastpass is up. Then you have the rest of the day for shows, movies, Great Movie Ride, etc.:thumbsup2

I went last Dec, on a Fantasmic day (SUPER CROWDED).. didnt get there until 11 or 12 and managed to do the following:

Got TSM fastpasses
Had lunch at Sci Fi
Rode RnR & got fastpasses
Rode ToT & got fastpasses
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Great Movie Ride
Saw Beauty and the Beast
Rode TSM
Dinner at 50's PTC
RnR again
ToT again
Then got in line for Fantasmic and saw the 6:30 show (waited a little over an hour in line, then in the stands and had AWESOME centre seats)
Then went and admired the Osborne lights for about 30 mins.

We were back at our resort (POFQ) by 8pm!

I have to echo the statement about Kona being notoriously slow. We showed up 15 mins before our ADR time of 6:30 and ended up waiting AN HOUR for a table.. then it took forever to have our orders taken, food served, etc. We ended up getting dessert to go because it was close to 9pm by that point and we just wanted to get to bed!
