Is 6 yo too young to have a sleepover?

i say go for it, and have a great time! kids that age don't need much to be entertained...i'm sure they'll just all be happy to be together at night for a party! maybe plan a few activities, but i bet the girls will find lots of stuff to do on their own!

In the end whatever you choose has to feel right for you & your family.

As for me, I haven't done it yet and was leaning towards the idea because so many of DD's friends do it. I found myself second guessing my opinions because 'everyone is doing it',(so much for practicing what I preech to my kids) :sad2:

Then within the past few weeks I began to have some very intimate & disturding conversations with different seemingly 'all american' intact church going families and realized that its very easy for manipulative liars to convince outsiders they are nice. I was let in because my friends are running away from the situations and needed support. I won't go into the gory details but what the 2 women told me goes on in their separate homes belongs on some terrible 'Lifetime' story, not in the middle of our stubbornly upper-middle-class, 2 car garage, soccer/softball/football development. I screen everyone and I never saw a hint of the truth. DH is still stunned at what I told him....I'm still stunned by what I heard.

There will be no over-nights for my kids but I think I will try the 'pretend' sleepover idea and see how that goes. Of course this is just my opinion and what works for me doesn't need to be right for you too.
