We've never been and it's looking like it will be a much cheaper trip than Disney even with a Club level room at RPR. Annual passes for $99 or even the 2 for 5 passes.

Would 5 days be too much? We would have a pool day in there and maybe see a movie and visit Citywalk.

It seems that US/IOA is more bang for your buck but I don't know if there is enough to do for that length of time.

DH and sons (12 & 15) I think would enjoy all the rides more than at Disney. I would miss the "Magic" but we might be able to include a few days there rather than the 10 days we stayed last time.

I have been there twice for five days. No children--just two adults. Five days will allow you to see everything at a relaxing pace. You will have time to see the shows at both parks, and make sure you take the time to really enjoy the theming of the parks. Trust me, there is magic at the Universal parks too! Your children are the age that might enjoy a day at the Hard Rock Hotel pool also. They have the slide and volleyball and basket ball, etc.

I sure hope that five days isn't too much, since we will be there for six in May :p .
Seriously, the more days the better if you are staying on-site. Take time to enjoy the pools, the other resorts, and you can do the parks without being Themepark Commandos.

We spent 5 days/4 nights at HRH two years ago, and still felt like we could have stayed longer. We are doing the same thing this year. Five days is not too long, especially if you like to redo your favorites, like we do. We love to ride MIB several times a day, and to ride the coasters and Jaws both in the daytime and at night - makes it seem like different rides. There are still things that we haven't seen that we want to this time - Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, the break dancers (can't think of their names), the Curious George area and the play area in JP. And this time Shrek, Jimmy Newtron and the Mummy will all be new to us. Wow - now that I think about it, maybe I should add another day!

I like the encouraging words! I think that I'll be surprised at how much we'll like it. It really does seem to be a cheaper trip than Disney. Does anyone else think so?

No. 11's Mom -- I see your from Spring, I'm from Arlington. I'm assuming that you're a Baseball Mom. My boys both play and it seems that we've played a team from Spring when we were in a Round Rock tournament.

Last Aug. we were at RPR for a week, and we had a great time. I spent one day at the pool with my little one, and did laundry..... I found that taking that day off was perfect for us. The other 3, well they LOVE the rides, and could go all day everyday........... and they pretty much did. There is plenty to do, you won't get bored. Me and my 3 year old just needed a day to "rest". The pool at the RPR was perfect for him as it has a very shallow area at one end for the little one's. You will have a great time, and as stated above you can pool hop. Citywalk is great too!! Also, I'm not sure of your kids ages, but you could also check out the babysitting for a "parents" night out!!!! ( Maybe at Mythos or Tchoup Tchoup).

Have a great trip!!!!

I will also be spending 5 days this year at HRH. Actually, I'm contemplating a 6th day! :p :D ;)

Again, it all falls on your style. 5 days is a lot of time. Many will say 3-4 is perfect. 5 days can allow you two days per park, plus the Rest Day. Two days per park is plenty if you go exploring every nook and cranny and take the time to check out each facade and see how much detail they put into them. Some of the facades have hidden gags that are often missed by the casual fan.

We spent six days there last spring. It was an absolutely wonderful relaxing holiday. We did not leave the property. We took advantage of the warm weather to do all of the water rides multiple times as well as spend a lot of time hanging out.

If you are finding that you would like to go off property, there is a shuttle to Millenia Mall as well as Sea World and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

We stayed at HRH last year for 6 days/5 nights. The first day we unpacked our bags, walked around the hotel & City Walk, picked up our park tickets and went off property to eat dinner at Chevy's. We spent the next 4 days at the parks. We'd arrive at the parks shortly after they opened, ride the rides, check out some shows and head back to HRH between 3pm & 5pm or so. We'd change once we were back at the hotel and then usually leave the property to do some shopping. We checked out Mall at Millenia, some outlets and ate dinner at the House of Blues one of the nights. We also hung out by the HRH pool 2 of the nights. The Friday we were there, we watched the dive-in movie and had our dinner delivered to our lounge chairs. It was wonderful. :D Our last day there, we ran over to IOA to ride a few rides and to pick up a Moose Juice & Goose Juice for the road. Then we were back on the road for the long drive home.

I LOVED every minute of that vacation. We were able to do everything at a leisurely pace and were able to really enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed. The arrival & departing days are always kinda a wash so we really only had 4 days to spend at the parks. I loved just hanging out at the parks, people watching and just wandering around.

Next month, we'll be staying at RPR for 7days/6 nights. This time we'll be able to use the full 5 days of our 5 day passes, plus get in some more pool time. So, do I think 5 days is too long? Nope, not at all. :D

Five days is sounding better and better! Maybe we'll even stay longer.

I checked the Loews site and it doesn't look like Club level is available for the time we're going. I was hoping to get all that food!

It is truly starting to sound like a more relaxing vacation than Disney which we usually do commando style.

Thanks for all the comments!

WE just did 14 days with our APs it was brilliant relaxed and enjoyed resort we did SW and DC as well but we never spent a full day at the parks due to FOTL although did return early eve let kids play while I enjoyed Happy Hour :smooth:

We're booked for a 5 night stay at HRH 7/15-7/20. I was a little nervous too since I've read a lot posts that you can do IOA and US in two days with FOTL. By since our kids are young, 4, 5 and 6 I think we'll take it slow enjoy the pools and relax before heading over to Disney. If I had it to do over I would have done WDW first and then gone on to Universal, but with an AP pass and dates that are not negotiable I had to put the Universal trip first. By the way FOTL really sold me for an on-site hotel, plus the Universal trip is much cheaper!

we will be spending 7at disney por and 7 days at hrh in june, cant wait more days the merrier!!!
