Hi,

I was just wondering if someone could help me out. We are going in April and have three daughters - ages 5, 3, and 8 months at the time of our trip. We are definitely doing two days at Magic Kingdom and one day at Sea World. We have one day left over and are trying to decide what to do. We were going to go to MGM, but a friend of mine just came back. Her 3 little ones are the same as my kid's ages, and she said they left MGM after 2 hours b/c her kids were bored there. She said that her family spent 3 days in Magic Kingdom and she felt that it was a good choice. Do you think 3 days is too much? It's not cheap, so I want to be sure that we buy tickets for the right places. Thanks so much for any help at all!!!!

Personally, I don't think it's possible to spend too much time at Magic Kingdom... even if you've already done and seen everything (which is unlikely if this is your first time and with young ones) it's still always great to re-ride favourites, spend some time wandering or meeting the many characters:cool1:

As for MGM... it really depends on your family. With really young ones, it might be better to skip it. You can always book it in in a future trip a few years down the road when they're older.

My family usually spends 3 or 4 (and a half) in Magic Kingdom, 2 EPCOT, one in MGM, and half a day in Animal Kingdom. But we also get Hopper Tickets, so we doa lot of hopping.

Hope I was of some help, and that your trip is truly magical!pixiedust:

I'm for the 3 days at MK. I have done it that way too:) I have no regrets..in fact the last time, my granddaughter wanted to know if we could do just part of Epcot and go back to MK:) Have a magical time:) Take lots of pictures..

How about part of one day at the AK and then back to MK?

No I don't think that many days is too much. You will have to go slower with your young kids, and naps need to be considered so your day will be broken up. Have fun.

I like wilderness01's suggestion, but I assume you don't want park hoppers. Perhaps go to MK one day, then if you are a little burnt out, do Animal Kingdom. No matter what, I'd do Magic Kingdom first and last with little ones your ages. :-)

Three days is not too much in the MK, though. It might be JUST BARELY enough.

I think if you have smaller kids, it wouldn't be too much. I probably would only do 2 days there and 1 at AK or HS if it were me. My teenage son had enough after one day of MK. There's just not enough for older kids, I guess.

While I do not think 3 days is too much at MK, you may want to consider Epcot or AK. Maybe you should plan on doing at least 2 days MK, and then once you have been there you can decide on the 3rd day.

I do agree with your friend, though, that MGM has little to offer little ones.

I may get flamed, but I really think HS has little to offer everyone. We were quickly disenchanted after 1/2 day at HS. They really need to rehaul this park and add new attractions as it has gotten boring for alot of us with both old, and young kids.

What is "HS" ?

What is "HS" ?

Hollywood Studios.

Is three days too much at MK? Heck, I don't think 3 weeks would be too much! :rotfl: But I actually like MGM/DHS or whatever you want to call it! When DH and I went 10 years ago for our honeymoon we weren't thrilled, but when we went 2 years ago with DD5, we walked out and said, "hmmm, why did I just enjoy that park more this time?" We actually spent a day and a half at DHS that trip. All the Disney Channel characters are there and we spent a fair amount of time waiting in lines there for autographs. In fact, we spent a fair amount of time waiting in EVERY park for autographs that trip!

I agree with the PP who said to just reevaluate after 2 days. If you think you've had enough, head to another park on the 3rd day and ENJOY!!!

our DD was 2.5 last september when we went and we spent most of our time at the MK - we get park hoppers so we hop alot. She did not enjoy MGM at all, we only spent about 3 hours there (for mommy and daddy!!)

what about another day at sea world. You can get another day free ticket as you leave the parks. 2 days at MK and 2 days at Sea World would have been my kids pick when they were that age.

Agreed that is is not too much to spend 3 days in MK with little ones. You just cannot do all there is to do at an enjoyable pace with your age children without spending a lot of time there. You can really appreciate it and that is nice quality time. If you were looking for different scenery or experiences, I would suggest Animal Kingdom as another option. The shows (Festival of the Lion King and Nemo) are wonderful and the parade is a lot of fun for little ones too with a whole lot in between.

i think I would do a third day at AK. You could do:
Nemo show
Festival of the Lion King show
Pocahontas show
Safari ride
Triceratops spin
Parade
walking around looking at animals
Also the conservation station- my DD 7 always loves this. Sometimes they have a show and bring out a live animal. DD got to walk a porcupine and got a special button for it. They also have animals to brush. It is a nice quiet area away from the crowds and noise.
It's tough to be a bug might be scary for them.
I love MK but 3 full days would be too much. Your children are small and there would be several rides there that they could not go on anyway. And yes, I think HS is boring for little ones other than a few shows.

3 days is MANDATORY for us during our Disney trips. DD could ride some rides (teacups, buzz lightyear, the people mover :rotfl: OVER AND OVER again).

I'm not all that experienced with Disney stuff....but if it was me..

I would do 1 day at MK....then Sea World...then EPCOT...then MK again for last day. Actually it doesnt matter what order....as long as MK is the last day and not 2 days in a row. This way even if people are not 100% excited about that day's activities...they always know they are looking forward to another day at MK.

You can go to EPCOT and just do a couple of things,...but theres enough to do that you could spend the WHOLE DAY there as well. It sounds like AK and MGM would have limited amount of activities for your group....but EPCOT is for everyone!

I would also do a second day at Seaworld. We just went with our 4, 5 and 10 month old and the kids absolutely loved Seaworld. There is a kiddie area there with about 8 rides and my kids could have spent the whole day there. They also loved the shows and the animals. I don't know when you are going but we were there over Presidents week and the crowds weren't bad at all. My kids rode the kiddie rides over & over without waiting. We went to MK one day & the crowds were awful. I hate to say it but it was the worst day of our vacation.
