Is that true? That ride was only THE most exciting thing in my world many (many) years ago. I will have to start saving for a trip to Tokyo if this is true.

This is very exciting news. I guess I should explore some non WDW Disney trips. I never would have even thought to check the other parks for my old time favorites.
While DisneySEA DOES have a 20,000 Leagues ride, it is NOT the same as the one that used to be at Magic Kingdom. It is an entirely unique take on the ride. The tech is very different too- unlike the DL and MK rides, the subs and props are never actually underwater (they pump bubbles through the windows to make it appear that you are). I'm sure you would enjoy it, however, it was very well done.
And no Toad in Tokyo, they have Pan/Snow White/Pinocchio just like Paris.
At DL 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was converted to the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, but it closed for a lengthy refurb earlier this year and there is speculation on internet sites as to whether it will actually re-open or not in the fall.
20KLUTS is definitely in the Tokyo parks and it is fabulous. A much grander, updated version of the original ride. Frankly it blows the original right out of the water. If you ever get there, you MUST see it.
20K Under the Sea & Journey To the Center of the Earth are two GREAT attractions in Tokyo DisneySea's "Mysterious Island" area that are totally original - not based on any classic Disney rides at all. Journey to the Center of the Earth was particularly awesome, probably the best ride in the park.
And, no Mad Toad isn't in Tokyo. Pretty sure you can only see it now in Anaheim.

To clarify some points in this thread the Dinseyland Anaheim ride that is now Finding Nemo themed was never 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It was always Submarine Voyage, which the 20,000 Leagues ride was based on technology-wise. They rethemed it to Nemo several years ago, but the subs were not changed (they look like conventional subs, not the Nautilus).
