Just curious if it is something my kids would enjoy? Is Mickey's Backyard BBQ better for that age?

When we went in Dec '06 my kids were 7,7 and 5 and they did well, but I thought they would. I personally wouldn't take a 2 or 3 yr old to that show unless they were pretty good about sitting down thru a whole meal. There's not a lot of room for them to meander around if they did get down.
BUT if you did take them and had to leave, maybe you could walk around outside and see the horses, etc while the rest of your party enjoyed the show and dinner.

We brought my DD to WDW for her first B-Day and went to the HDDR. My niece also came and she was just under 2. They both LOVED it!

We took dd when she was three and she had a blast. It's fast moving; lots of singing and clapping so she was pretty entertained.

Yep, we've done the 3-year old thing.

Mine absolutely loved it . . . of course the next night, he was swinging his napkin around (just like he learned at the hoop-de-doo) at the Flying Fish.

My oldest (and at that time only) though, was always a great restaurant eater. We could really take him anywhere. Now his younger brother, on the other hand . . . .

While you are the best judge of your children, I'd suggest you wait a few more years before doing HDD with them. HDD is a lot of fun, but its pretty expensive and the experience would probably be lost a very young children. Going by what I see in my grandchild, I'd think that age 6 is probably a good age to introduce them to the HDD.

Our DS loves music...he has been twice already and is 18 months. He claps and dances in his highchair. My mother went with us the last time and could not believe how into the show he was. HDDR is for all ages in my opinion...like pp said each child is different I guess.

Thanks! What about Mickey's Backyard BBQ for that age? I would have to give up either CM or LTT dinner to make time for it. Worth it?

I think your little ones would be fine at HDDR it is very "noisy" anyway with lots of activity.

I have never done the BBQ, but my understanding is that it is sort of a free for all on the dance floor with all the kids/parents trying to get to dance with the characters. The seating is al large picinic tables and you will share the table with others.
