Is 11am ADR too late for Chef Mickey’s Breakfast?

I read the breakfast hour is from 7:30-11:30. Is my ADR too late that we wouldn’t be able to enjoy our meal and meet the characters? From what I’ve been reading posts here, I don’t have high expectation of the food. I’m just hoping they would still refill food, instead of feel like eating leftover… :confused3 But more importantly, if the characters will be around greeting guests. This is DH and I 1st character dining and I really want to see Donald (and maybe Pluto if he’s around) ;).
I also read Cape May looks more preferrable among guests and I can get earlier ADR (9:50a). Wondering which 1 I should go? Any thought anyone? Thanks a lot! :)

My wife and I (no kids) have taken then the last ADR of breakfast service a few times at different locations. While I can't comment on Chef Mickey's itself, none of the other locations ever stopped puting out fresh food, rushed us or stopped sending the characters out. We actually like having the late ADRs for breakfast because it gives us a little time to tour in the morning and is a nice way to take a late morning/early afternoon break.

Most of the breakfast buffets, IMO, are similar to eachother. The basic foods are the same and each restaurant only has a hand full of dishes that are unique to them. While Cape May is a less hectic character breakfast, it is also quite time consuming to get to. IMO, it is really not worth going to unless you are staying in the EC resort area.

Our 1115 Chef Mickey's breakfast was some of the best character interaction we've had at a restaurant. The characters continued to make the rounds even as the crowds thinned out so we got several visits from each character and they had time to just play with our kids. It was a lot of fun!

That's great to hear!

I saw a thread yesterday and someone said they didn't like going to character meals late because the characters weren't very interactive. We have a 10:30 Ohana ADR and I was getting worried the characters may just drop by for a second.

I had an 11 ADR Chef Mickey's last August and we waited I felt close to 30 minutes or longer to be seated, the food was full and replenished but some of it was cold and I felt very rushed with the waitress the characters came around but I felt like they wanted to get us out the door for the lunch crowd. I still had an enjoyable experience but some of the food was cold and felt rushed.

This past February we had a last breakfast seating at 'Ohana (10:50am). We were literally the last guests to leave the restaurant. As the restaurant was emptying out I just asked my server if a couple characters we hadn't seen yet were going to be back around our area. One of them did end up doing another rotation around our area but I guess the server went and spoke to the handler of the other one because that one made a special trip over to our area of the restaurant just to see us.

Since there's another half hour worth of ADRs being seated after yours there shouldn't even need to ask though if somebody in your party happens to be away from the table when a character comes by then just ask your server if she can check to be sure that the character will be around again.

They really do want everybody to see the characters so they'll make sure that you do.

Every late character ADR we've had has resulted in some great interaction. I think it's because they're not feeling as rushed to get to as many tables since tables are being emptied out and they're not loading more. We love our last seating breakfast ADRs. Once time the Mad Hatter sat down with us at our table at 1900 PF for it seemed like almost 10 minutes.

We've had a late (10:30/11:00) breakfast at CM's 3 times & it was great all 3 times. We would spend a few hours at MK then take the monorail over. Food was always plentiful. Character ineraction was great (especially after the crowd thins out). That has always been one of my kids favorite meals of our trips. Sadly we couldn't get an ADR for our Nov trip. I'm going to keep checking though.

We had an 11am ADR in March. At first I was really p.o.'d because it seems like we just missed the characters. They were all going back into the back for their break. We were basically thru eating and had not had any characters stop by yet. But then they started coming and coming and coming. I think we were one of the first tables in their rotation and we got the best interaction I have ever experienced in a character meal. The restaurant had practically emptied out by then and they spent a ton of time with us. They even came back several times. Mickey sat down on the floor and played cars with my 2 y.o. nephew for a looooong time. It was truly magical.

Chef mickey's doesn't serve lunch, does it? So, why would they be rushing to set up for lunch?

I was just looking at the times and they do have lunch listed but no menu - wondering if it is a Character Lunch - anyone know???

I may be mistaken, but I thought that they are open for lunch a couple times a year. I swore I recall seeing they were open for Christmas day lunch.
