Bama Ed,

:hourglass I know you have a tune-up game this weekend, but how do you feel about the Iron Bowl? I see a close game and maybe a focused Auburn team win. Maybe 30-24? :happytv: Hopefully not as nerve racking as our win a couple years ago.

Happy Thanksgiving. :cheer2:

The luck stops when the Tide Rolls in! Sorry.....couldn't resist butting in.....but as long as I'm here. GO BAMA! We'll be at the Fort in the 800 loop watching the game!

War Eagle! We will have to listen on the radio since we will be on the road coming to the fort. Half of us for Auburn and half for Bama. Should be a interesting ride.

Intend to see a good game, especially in 2nd half where Bama seems to play their best. I call for a close game, say Auburn 21 Alabama 324? ;-)

Nah, in all honesty it should be good. I will feel better if Yeldon will quit putting the ball on the ground. I think it will be a slugfest, down to last 2-3 minutes.
Bama 28 Auburn 21

I like this.... It is what has been discussed here in my circle of friends, the Bama fans are very concerned on the slow starting Tide and the fast pace of the Auburn O.... Should be a good one for sure! :thumbsup2

Hiya Ken. :wave2:

Both teams have the same job (you've heard this before):

1. Run the ball
2. Stop the run
3. Win the turnover battle

We all know Auburn lives on the run, so to speak. Bama/Saban is unbeaten when running 150 yards or more. The hurry-up-no-huddle doesn't worry me because aTm and Johnny Football run a HUNH also and we kept up with them.

I expect Bama to run a 4-3 defense and try to stuff the run and dare Auburn to win with lots of passing. Your DC Ellis Johnson was respected for the job he did at the same job in the past at Bama. Your D is much improved. Our QB, receivers, and D secondary are better than yours but you have the home field advantage.

Some might say, "but Ed, Auburn beat Georgia with the passing game". I hope Bama is better than Georgia and wouldn't find themselves in that position.

But you never know. Stranger things have happened. I think the rest of the country has SEC-fatigue (particularly tired of Bama) so the rest of the country is probably pulling for Auburn. I think the current betting line favoring Bama by 15 is too high. We were down 14 zip against aTm in their house this year and came back and it would make me uncomfortable to have to come from behind again.

FWIW, Gus would win my vote for SEC Coach of the Year. :cheer2: While he deserves it, this year's performance is also a sign of how terrible a coach Chizik was the last two years.

Hey, what caused you to pull the trigger and get a new motorhome? Good for you, buddy.

Weagle! and

Bama Ed

BTW, Ken or Richard:

One of you pick up the red bat phone and call Jay Jacobs down on the Plains. Supposedly this picture is from today. Ya'll need to move on and not live in the past.

"24 Hour Rule, remember?" Ed

:stir: Naw. Let us bask in that score for a few more days. We might not want to leave next week's up long. You're right, our D has been better this year, and matured through the year, but we still give up too many big runs, and too many 3rd down plays. Our O has hit the ground "running" so to speak, but we did some passing earlier in the year...before Marshall got hurt?

We found this MH on ebay and the owner had a really good video showing off MANY attributes and condition of it. We went to Jackson MS one weekend and brought it home. It has, among other things, three slides (two up front) which give us more room for Shawnee to move a wheelchair around inside. In the past he has had to crawl on the floor. It also has a dining table with chairs which will let him pull his chair up to the table instead of me picking his 170+ pound self and seating him in a dinette. There is also a full sofa hide-a-bed as opposed to a jacknife sofa bed. That's an easier bed to put Kimberly in, with room to spare. Judy has said she will likely sleep with her while I sleep in back with Shawnee. So, more room for everyone, but we'll see how she likes that mattress. Additionally it has a 4-door fridge with ice maker...fewer trips to the Trading Post, a convection/microwave and a propane oven with 3 burner cooktop, two A/C's with heat strips, and two furnaces. All this comfort stuff is controlled by a multizone t'stat. (Judy hates heat, I hate cold.) The MH is managed by an EMS which senses whether we are on 30A, 50A, or generator. When we get our chair lift installed later this winter, we will be set. I have replaced the old style TV in the bedroom with an LED with built-in DVD player. Shawnee likes to get on the bed and watch videos. :)

All that said so you can see the purchase was mainly for the kids, and will hopefully last as long as I am able to drive it. Judy and I just go along for the ride. We have a new 11 month old baby that we are considering adopting...trach and feeding tube. Born at 1# 6oz, now up over 13#. Doing well, but several monitors still connected.

Probably much more than you asked for, but there you have it.

Good Luck with UT-C. Not so much the next week. :rotfl2:

Ed, from the word I am getting, the score board operator is still in shock and has not moved from the game last week, in fact, someone else had to reach over and turn the horn off at the end of the game.... LOL

BTW, I am glad you said don't live in the past, if just the rest of the Bama fans would remember that, all my friends here talk about is the past, I would be enjoying the moment.....

Did I miss someone new RV? I have a friend selling a 2003 Allegro, only 19,000 miles, if you know anyone looking, the pictures I have look good.

I'm out of the running until at least October/November. I will finally finish my Family Nurse Practitioner in May. By the time I get done with state board exams it will probably be on into July. I have done my last Disney trip during the summer for a while. I wanna see how it is during Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas for a change.
Who knows, I say this and we might very well be right back in the summer again.
We'll see

This thread might get interesting as next Saturday gets closer.

Love that score. "I call for a close game. Auburn 21 - Alabama 324..."

Bama's not quite that good this year.

I expect the game to be far closer than I would like, but hope that Bama pulls it out.

ROLL TIDE!

Retired and Happy, Just have to say that the both of you are Truly Guarding Angels. You always sound so happy and positive when speaking of your children. God has truly blessed you. I know you don't want praise but here is just a little love sent your way.
Good Luck with your new MH.

Hope you all saw the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. Nice article on AJ McCarron, Bama's senior QB. Here's the link: http://college-football.si.com/2013/11/20/alabama-aj-mccarron-sports-illustrated-cover/

Not many people know it but AJ's younger brother Corey is an H-back on the Tide but way down the depth chart - he has never carried the ball or caught a pass. That is, until yesterday. AJ threw him a pass in the UTC game for Corey's first completion. And it was on Senior Day (AJ's last home game). http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2013/11/mccarron-to-mccarron_pass_fulf.html

PS - the photo looks like it was taken at Ramma Jamma's on Bryant Drive across the street from the stadium. It's on my short list of the 5 hole-in-the-wall places to eat at in Tuscaloosa. I would recommend it for breakfast (served anytime) and the burgers for lunch. It's been featured in one of the "Taste of the Town" bits that Todd Blackledge does on BSPN.

Yeah Ed, I never realized how poor AJ's family was growing up. I laughed at the part talking about his f-100 with the peeling seats and hole in floorboard.
I would rate Ramma Jammas just behind Dreamland on my favorites.

Dreamland's original location in Jerusalem Heights is on that short list too.

Ok, you two are talking food and that is right up my alley!! Dreamland I have been to, but not Ramma Jammas, but will make it a must do when in T-town... As for AJ, yeah he is pretty good, but the best thing he has going for him is his girlfriend, an Auburn girl!! LOL

Awesome on the Nurse Practitioner, that is great! We love the Oct, Nov, Dec., times as well, but we are wanting to go take 3-4 of our DD friends and we plan to work one day at Give Kids the World, to make them appreciate all they have, not that they are spoiled or rich, just the health they have and such, great place.

Now, seems there are many from Alabama (the state) chiming in, I was thinking of organizing a GKTW meet in the Bham~Anniston area, would anyone be interested in coming?

As for the game, win, lose, or drawl, I am an Auburn fan, but no matter what, I never rub it in with a win and never get mad at a lost, as there are more important things in life, but I do enjoy a good game and having fun with friends talking about it!! War Eagle, btw I do hope for an AU win!! :cheer2:
