Irma DVC Cancelation

Was supposed to leave for the airport this morning at 5 am, woke up at 3 am only to see the storm is still tracking the center of the state. Cancelled flights last minute. I can still get flights out tonight and tomorrow if the storm track changes.

Questions, as I prepare for the long DVC hold time this morning. The DVC policy states you can cancel prior to check in. Does that include online checkin? I did online checkin long before I felt Irma was a threat.

Can I walk my cancellation? Has anyone tried to partially cancel their DVC reservation. Hoping to cancel first day today, and then decide on the remaining days later today.

You can cancel a night or two off the front - that's doable.

I'm sure they'll be able to help you out.

The front desk made a call for me and extended our room for a few nights on points with no issue. In addition, I can cancel any unused part as long as I'm checked out and let them know by 11am.

Great.

I moved our flight from 3:35pm tomorrow to 9:40pm tonight. Bummer we'll lose a night but I definitely dont want to check out until I know we're getting home and I don't want to be stuck in Orlando for 3-4 days with a mentally handicapped person not having a room. Hopefully we'll navigate the hell that MCO will inevitably be tonight and get out of here relatively unscathed.
