IrishEyes's Planning Journal - 9-6-07 - I'm MARRIED! Teaser pics pg 6!

Miniefan - Yes it is from David's Bridal. I thought their prices were so reasonable. I managed to get it on sale for 15% off too. They had a couple in this style. And actually, when I was checking out, I saw one very similar... but the neckline was shaped different b/c it had spaghetti straps and I just loved it. But, I wasn't about to bug them to see if that one was even available. I'd love to see pics of your dress :)

MickeyAnne - You are too sweet :) You know... I had an ex that used to tell me that my smile was scary b/c it was so big. Talk about awful. I didn't smile much while I dated him... but I guess that's why he's the EX and not the DF! Thank you for your lovely compliment :)

DisneyFairy19 and misscmac - :grouphug: Thank you so much :) It's so sweet and wonderful to get good feedback on the dress. I was a little nervous that it was "over the top"... but I think the pictures are gonna rock!

You look so pretty in your dress. I can tell its the dress for you because your just glowing in it with that smile!!

Well I know I've been MIA for a few weeks. But work and life have been CRAZY.

OKAY. So BIG update.

We've finalized the guest list. It is 18 guests, plus DF and I. One of our guests is our baby girl (who will be 9 months old at the time of our wedding).

I've got some new pictures to share. First of all, we decided on a bridesmaid dress.

bridesmaids.jpg

I have 3 bridesmaids. I'm very excited they will be wearing pink :) It doesn't match our wedding bands, but oh well, lol.

And speaking of our wedding bands... they came in :) I custom ordered the bands through a jeweler, and let me just say, we got the BEST deal. My engagement ring was a one-of-a-kind ring, so we couldn't just go anywhere and find a ring to suite it b/c of the tsavorites. So I contacted the jeweler and he gaves us a wonderful price for the two wedding bands.

Here is my engagement ring next to the band:

And the two bands next to each other:

I've also confirmed and paid deposits for a few services. I have Randy Chapman doing photography, Lisa's Magical Weddings doing hair/makeup for myself and my bridesmaids and Carolyn Allen doing steaming. Reverand Jack Day is our officiant.

I am awaiting response from my coordinator about some of the entertainment availability.

Our ceremony is at 2:30. That will be followed by the champagne/cake reception and pictures around SBP. (I am hoping to get a horsedrawn carriage, but the budget is still sort of in the works for that.) We are going to go to the GF for pictures after the wedding.

We have a dinner reservation for 5:30 at Citricos for our entire party. They are being so helpful and letting us "preselect" the menu, which is so much easier on everyone involved. AND we snagged a reservation for V&A for the Sunday after our Wedding, just the two of us. Yay :)

Whew! I have been a busy little bee.

I hope everyone else is doing good :) I've been going NUTS with the planning. My DF's sister got SO mad that she wasn't invited she started this whole family feud. It was ridiculous. We explained that we couldn't invite ALL of our siblings, so we weren't going to invite any and it just got ugly. She's been invited now. I just couldn't handle the drama. This "intimate / inexpensive wedding" is starting to cost a fortune.

Love Love Love your dress. I'm going to be in WDW during your wedding! Maybe I'll see ya there. Beautiful ring and tiara. All lovely.

So... no real updates at the moment.

I'm down 9 lbs since this time last month though... so that's an update, lol.

The bridesmaid dresses came in :) They are fabulous and pink and my bridesmaids look very lovely.

I've decided I no longer like the tiara, so I'm going to return it. It's too tall, and I want something a little smaller. I've been shopping for a veil and that is so much harder than I thought it would be.

I'm also trying to decide on the menu for Citricos. It's a lot more $$$ than I realized, but I think we'll still be at about $2k, which was my estimate.

I hope everyone is doing good :)

I just wanted to tell you that you are doing great with the weight loss! Congrats! Thats just awesome! I wish I could get motivated and get to losing! You are going to look gorgeous on your day!

I love all of your plans!! Good luck with the rest!

And can I just say that you do NOT look like you even have 30lbs to lose!! You look fantastic in those wedding pictures esp after having a baby. I hope I look that good after a baby!

Just for fun... here is a pic of me n my fiance.

LisaDan_FathersDay.jpg

Of course... I am four months pregnant in this picture... and WAY thinner than I am now. How unfair is that???

Well I've been MIA for forever because I've been having some drama at work. I'm at risk of losing my job at the end of the year (getting laid off), so I've been rather depressed lately.

But I've decided to try not to get too down about it. And the best way to do that has been spending money (oh the irony).

Sooo... I thought I'd share some stuff with you ladies!

For now (I have to go feed the baby in a few), I'll offer a teaser... the shirts for the bridal party:

tshirts.jpg

I designed them and ordered them through Cafe Press. You can't use anything Disney on orders (b/c it's copyright protected), so I opted to just go with a cute castle :)

Here are our completed invitations. I made these all by myself while DF made fun of me for stressing over ink color.

They are white velum overlay on white cardstock, tied together with pale pink organze ribbon.

My daughter will be my flower girl, so she is wearing this dress:

flowergirldress.jpg

I found it at Babies R Us for $17 on sale. Can't beat that :) My daughter will be 9months old at the time of the wedding... so she is being wheeled down the aisle in a wheelbarrow by my fiance's sister. The sister is going to wear this dress:

I bought my veil from David's Bridal for more than I want to admit. It has scattered crystals and pearls and is way overpriced IMO, but it's pretty and has two tiers. I'm not sure if I will be doing a blusher or not...

veil.jpg

My shoes... okay... they look a little hoochie. BUT.. my fiance is 6 1/2 feet tall... and I'm 5'5". And all my bridesmaids are way taller than I am. So I need the height... and I wanted a "glass slipper" sort of look. They kind of look like stripper shoes...

"Something Blue"

My NEW tiara:

My necklace and earrings (which look REALLY dark and not sparkly in this picture for some reason...)

bridejewelry.jpg

Bridesmaid jewelry (also photographed REALLY dark... the teardrop stones are a lovely shade of pink)

And.... CAKE JEWELRY!!!

caketop.jpg

I absolutely could not decide on a cake top... so I opted for this. I may do some floral in the center and on the cake, but Rosie hasn't responded to my million and one emails....

The 'maids are getting jewelry and this engraved with their names:

The 'men are getting this:

Also, we're doing welcome bags for all the guests. All the guys (groomsmen / guests... total of 7) are getting:
boypolo.jpg

They are $7.99 at the http://www.disneyshopping.go.com!!!!

The bridesmaids (4 of 'em) are getting the shirts I ordered from Cafe Press (scroll up a bit). The female guests (3 of them) are getting disney tee's (also $7.99 at disneyshopping).

The dad's are getting caps that say "Father of the Bride" and "Father of the Groom".

We are doing the tote's per couple, so there will only be like 8 totes.

Plus we are going to fill the totes with a few other goodies like:

rain poncho's
sunblock
tylenol
tide marker
snacks
bottled water

Whew. I look like I've been pretty productive, lol. I really have been that great at getting stuff done.

I ordered the favors. We are doing miniture bottles of white wine (splits) that have a custom label on them. I also ordered cinderella wine bottle stoppers (accented in pink). We also have a candy favor which is silver chocolate stars in a pink bag which will be resting in a glass slipper. I will post pictures as soon as I receive all this stuff.

I've also ordered our Sand Ceremony vase (personalized with "And they lived happily ever after). I will be using pink and white sand.

I've decided what I want to do with my floral as well, but I haven't heard back from Rosie.

Bridal bouquet - French style - light pink w/ white stephanotis & crystal mickey's
Groom bout. - light pink
Bridesmaid bouquet - quantity of 4 - light/med/dark pink roses
Groomsmen bout. - quantity of 4 - medium pink roses
Father bout. - quantity of 2 - dark pink
Presentation roses - quantity of 2 - dark pink
Swag (no floral clusters)
Columns - quantity of 2
Floral arrangements on columns - quantity of 2
Petals on the aisle (50 roses)
Wagon decorated w/ ribbon (for flower girl to sit in)

This is the swag... but I dont want any floral on it:

The rose petals / floral arrangements on column:

I'm not sure if I am going to do an arrangement around the sand ceremony as I think the vases are a little small. Maybe we'll just see if we cant scatter some rose petals or something.

YAYAYAY!

Our wishes cruise is successfully booked! We're departing from the Wilderness Lodge Marina!

We have to arrive at 9pm. Our dinner reservations are at 5:30 for a group of 18 at the Grand Floridian... so I think we have a good windown (3 hours for dinner and then that gives us a 30 minute travel window to get back to the WL).

I'll have to talk to the wedding coordinator about chartering a town car to pick us up.

I'm so happy. I really thought I wouldn't be able to snag the cruise... YAY!

I love your planning journal. Do you mind if I ask you how much the swag and rose petals are setting you back at SBP? I am also getting married there and although I already love the look of it, I really like the idea of dressing it up a little, only if it's not too expensive mind you:scared1:
I also love you in your wedding dress, you look so beautifu, try not to stress about losing the weight, you look beautiful regardless.:thumbsup2 I am also trying to lose weight before the wedding, in fact you must be getting married close to my date too! It really is a struggle but the wedding is the motivation, congrats on losing all you have so far.
The Wishes cruise will be a fantastic addition to your wedding, I can't wait to see pictures.
I also have to say I love your chocie of jewellery and the shoes and veil are so pretty!

I don't mind at all :) Here is the pricing I received from Rosie:

  • Swag with three floral clusters $250.00 (I am not doing floral clusters, so I think it is $200 for just the swag)
  • Columns $25.00 per pair
  • Floral arrangements on columns $125.00 each
  • Petals on the aisle $50.00 (25 roses) $100.00 (50 roses)

Also, I did not add pictures of these, as I am not doing them, but I did get pricing:
  • Ring of floral around the center cylinder (Unity Candle Arrangment) $125.00
  • Ribbons swag on railing behind Bride and Groom $100.00.

I also love you in your wedding dress, you look so beautifu, try not to stress about losing the weight, you look beautiful regardless.:thumbsup2 I am also trying to lose weight before the wedding, in fact you must be getting married close to my date too! We are getting married very close to one another!!! I can't wait to see your pictures either! Thank you SO much for your sweet words :) I'm trying not to stress about the weight loss. I'd love to be at my dream weight by the wedding day, but I wont lose it if I'm not. I'm trying to be realistic as well. I have 3 months and I'd like to drop another 15 - 20lbs, which I think is doable :)

OMG!

I went into David's Bridal today to buy my sisters bridesmaid dress. (Lets ignore, for the time being, that my sister is 5'9" and a size 1... and yes of course she is gorgeous... lucky little brat...;) )

I decided that, on a whim, since I had lost 12 lbs, I would go ahead and try on the next size down in my wedding gown. I almost didn't b/c I didnt want to get discouraged if the smaller size didn't zip even after a 12lbs loss. But... I sucked it up and decided I might as well give it a go.

IT FIT!

I'm SO happy right now, I could scream. I actually did scream at the bridal shop. The bride next to me gave me the dirtiest look but I didn't care, lol. I was jumping around and just so freaking happy.

My bridal assistant said that I have a little "back flab" at the back (I couldn't see it and neither could my sister). I could tell she really wanted me to think about it before ordering the new size. But I know I've commited for the past month and a half ... and look where I am. Why would I backpedal now? I want to lose another 15 - 20!!

I just had to share. I was feeling really down... like my loss wasn't even noticeable.. but I am just so happy right now :) :cheer2:
