I would like to buy DD an IPOD Touch for her birthday. Anyone know of any good deals? I don't care too much about the generation or gigs. I have checked apple website? Any other sites to check? We are looking for a good deal. DH is tired of sharing his:mad:

Try walmart.com. I was checking recently and they had 8g 3rd generation for $183 and change. I think you have to have it delivered to the store though.

Good luck! :)

I think amazon had the lowest prices I have seen. I am getting one in a next week, when we come back from disney world!!

Apple will likely always be full price. Amazon is usually a bit cheaper. I've also seen some sales at Target or other places that were about same price as Apple but they offered a gift card. If you are not in a hurry, I would recommend to keep an eye on weekly ads.

So far, I have not seen anything more than about $25 cheaper than Apple's price, though.

Apple refurbs(direct from the Apple website) today are running: 8gig second gen $149. 8gig current gen $169. Or a 16gig 2nd gen(this capacity has been eliminated in the current) for $200. I paid $200 and change for my 8gig 2nd gen just after Christmas 2008. Its a great little device, but I can see a day when I'm going to want more storage. I use it daily for audio, video, and apps. Probably my prized gadget at the moment. :thumbsup2

unless you get an older generation (hard to come by) or a refurb one, you are likely to pay close to full price always.

Apple just doesn't put allow them to be on sale that often. The cheapest I have ever seen the current 8gig is like $180 and that was Thanksgiving weekend when I bought dh's through best buy website (free delivery and I used like $30 in gcs to make it like $150)

I'll second the vote for the refurbs directly from Apple's site - they come with full factory warranty (you can even buy Applecare for them if you like), and look and function like new. Otherwise, keep your eyes open for Bing Cashback deals at sites that sell iPods (I know I've seen 15-18% off at Tiger Direct at times). Check sites like Slickdeals.net or Fatwallet for the best Bing Cashback updates.

You can check Best Buy too. I got one for DBF for Christmas, I got a package with nice earbuds, a couple soft silicone cases, a wall/car charger the 8 Gig ITouch and a $15 ITunes gift card and it was about $220.

Thanks all, I think we will go with a refurbished one. You are all so smart:thumbsup2

I bought mine refurbished from a reliable seller on ebay. This is my second one(my daughter has my Nano) and I paid about $50 less than retail. I was able to get a warranty through square trade. If you would like his seller name PM me.
