Can you share with other ipod touches?

I just got an ipod touch. My oldest son has asked if he can get one too, but we won't be getting him one until the summer.....so, if he downloads some games (with cost) can he download them onto his ipod touch too when he gets it or will he have to pay again?

The above will determine what he decides to buy NOW vs. waiting.

Thanks,

Dawn

Yes, byut you would have to share the account. I have a classroom set of IPod Touches for my 5th graders-- they are all linked to the same account and share the same apps.

My ds and I have our own personal ones and share an account.

there is a way.. But i do not know how to do it!:rotfl2::rotfl2: someone on here is sure to know though!! I remember it being NOT worth the hastle!

My DD8's iPhone 3GS, my iPhone 4, my iPod Touch and iPad are all on the same account. This makes it really easy for me to control what is on each device. Plus we only pay for the app once.

This is what we do as well. Between my DH and I we have 2 ipod touches and 2 new iphones. We all use the same account on my computer. When we attach a new device to my computer and set it up, we name the new device a unique name but attach it to my account.

I have 3 children and DH all have an itouch. They each have their own account. When they sync their itouch to DH's laptop they can download any apps or songs that anyone else has already bought. It's stored in the computer. If you change computers you can only access what is already on your itouch until you log onto your account and buy more, then that will be on THAT computer.

When they want to buy something on DH's laptop they plug the itouch into it then log into their own account so they use their own gift card, then shop. But once they download what they buy it is on that laptop.

ETA: The reason we give each of our kids their own account is so they can use their own gift cards and we don't have to worry about anyone "accidentally" using money from someone elses card.

 DS6 wanted to see these :scared1: :cheer2:.

DH and DD buy their apps using my account then when they sync to thier accounts the apps transfer to theirs. I'm the only one who regularly backs up purchases so I prefer it this way. You can always do homesharing as well and 'shop' the accounts on your home network. We have ours set up so that if I download a digital copy of a movie it automatically transfers to DD's account as well.
Short answer: yes he'll be able to get his apps later.

If you set up one itunes account, you can share music and apps. I'm not sure what the device limit is but we have an iphone, 2 itouches, and several ipods on one account. One great future is that if you try to buy a song or app and someone else has already purchased it, itunes won't let you buy it again. This is great for us since my adult son purchases more than anyone else and we don't always know what he's bought.

I know the device limit is high because I have 25 all linked to my classroom account!:yay:
