ipod touch question

My DS has an 8g ipod touch, I was thinking of getting him a newer 32g one and I was going to take his 8g one. I am not techie at all - the songs and games he has on his 8g, can he transfer them to the new 32g ipod or will he had to re-buy them?

I'm new to this too, but we just did same thing. I did not open a new account. DH & I are sharing an account with 2 iTouches. We did not need to rebuy, but we do need to select what gets installed on each iTouch. I googled and one suggestion for the music was setting up separate libraries for each person. I don't have music on mine, so we didn't do that.
