IPOD Touch - don't laugh!

I just purchased an IPOD Touch.

We have AT & T internet service. What do I need to purchase so that my husband can be on the computer and I can use my IPOD Touch to connect to the internet? A router? What type? Any suggestions?

We have a router that connects my dd's IPod touch to the internet. We have Att uverse so it's whatever router they put in.

You need a wireless router. 802.11g is fine. You can get them at BestBuy, Target, Wal*Mart, or those type of places. Generally about $45 or so. Common brands are Linksys and Netgear. I'm generally a Linksys fan and they are super easy to set up securely...just follow the installation CD.

You will hook it up via cable to your computer and then it will broadcast a wireless signal that your Ipod Touch can pick up.

Yes, a wireless router. Not sure what type of computer you have, but with my PC I had a Linksys router. It worked fine and was easy to set up. Now with our Mac we have the Apple Time Capsule, because it has a 500GB hard drive and wirelessly backs up your computer.

PS - It doesn't matter what internet provider you have, your iPod Touch can connect to any open WiFi network.

I would recommend the Linksys router. That's what I have and it's very easy to use!

Side note: I also just got an ipod touch and I'm so excited about using it for my upcoming Disney trip! I'm putting movies on it for the plane ride, I put all my reservation confirmation numbers in the calender, have a count down app, and I put the disney maps in my pictures. I'm a big dork, I know, but I thought some Disers might understand!!

Where do I get a countdown application? I have a new I-Pod touch as well...and I really don't know how to use it!

I went to the app store thing on the main page, then I picked to search by categories. Under the "Utilities" Category, if you select "top free" and scroll down, it's on the like second or third page. It was called "Days Until" and had a question mark on it.
